Thanks for letting me know it crashed. I will look for the crash log tomorrow if it comes in. Although I remember you saying it crashed once before for you, but I didn’t get a crash log. You might have chose the option on your phone to not send apple crash data. Without that though, I can’t see what is causing it to crash for you.
OK, I’m convinced that today’s is in error, even though it doesn’t know it is.
I first thought I was in excellent shape with only two strikes, with this layout:
I know so much, including first 5 letters of the middle ring. Surely I can get that word. Except the only letter I think completes it (and I wasn’t even positive that was a word) has already been a strike.)
And with letters 2,3,4 of the upper ring, I ought to be in great shape. Except I can’t think of any possibility with the letters still available. So I make a few more guesses, and end up here with 4 strikes
Now only one letter to go. Still two words to go, but the remaining letter is shared.

Don’t see any reason to continue. I think everything is surely a strike, and if I strike out it still won’t tell me what the answer should have been.
I think that when it crashed the first time it might have saved bad data to your phone for today’s puzzle. I have played on about 10 different machines and can’t recreate the issue. If I get a crash report for the first one, I will try to see if I can recreate the crash and see if I can then recreate this issue. Thanks for letting me know.
5 strikes, 1 ad, 100 points. would have been 150 points if I hadn’t watched the ad, then watched an ad to start a new game.
Odd. Is this a but. Right now I’m #1 on the leaderboard (no, that’s not my question. A reasonable result with very few people playing yet and fairly in the day). But 1698514 is #2 on the leaderboard, with 0. In several other games recently he has displayed as right behind me, with 0. Does that mean he really played and got 0?
Playing and getting 0 would be a plausible result. On at least some of the others, and today, my score would be 0 if I stopped after 5 strikes, watching no ads.
I changed the leaderboard to put everybody on it whether they have played or not today instead of showing n/a like I originally had. You would not be able to tell whether the person has played and got 0 points or if they haven’t played.
I probably will change the scoring at some point. I just picked something easy to get the game out there. Didn’t put enough effort to make it actuarially sound. 
Right now just relying on people not liking to lose, but if someone wants to be strategic, that is fine too.
I didn’t get a crash log from where you said it crashed for you yesterday. You must have your settings set to not send crash logs.
Even now I don’t see any option to send or not send crash logs.
I learn something new everyday! I went to make sure that it was in the same place (ie settings, privacy, analytics & improvements, share iPad/iphone analytics) and apparently you can now see the crash log yourself under the analytics tab option. If you don’t want to send all the crashes on your machine to apple, you could still copy it from there and paste it in an e-mail to me (developer@bluewaterapps.com). You would just look for the date and the name of the app. I was actually surprised to see how many things had crashed on my iPad without me even knowing.
OK, I found that section and see that I have not been sending crashes to Apple, and am not inclined to.
There are loads of files under Data, but it’s not clear to me which are for cashes. Also maybe I’ve run out of storage for those things, because there are very few if any with dates after 4-10. Except several starting stacks- with dates as recent as 2022-08-15.

Showing everyone on the daily leaderboard, even if they haven’t played, sounds like a bad idea if you ever get to a scrollable leaderboard. Eventually, there will be loads of players with 0 taking up space.
Got todays words with only 2 strikes which was interesting given the words. Someone else probably did to as there is someone with the same score as me on the leaderboard.
I started after seeing your message. Strong suspicion it will soon crash on me, or should crash on me, since my first four guesses, all common letters, are all strikes. But it has not crashed yet.
You do have an issue as you have got a letter that should be there. Again, I think I have fixed your issue, but sometimes it takes up to a week to get it released. In the meantime, I would probably hit the button and then count to 5 before you start playing a game. I think for some reason your connection to the server gets delayed and you are hitting keys before the puzzle loads. My fix is to not let the keyboard appear until the puzzle is fully loaded. Should be available next week.
Don’t know if it crashed or what. Something happened. When I went back it was playing an Ad, odd since I had not made another guess. After the add the game reopened, no strikes yet, but maybe something is wrong since I started with 2 strikes (both common letters which had been strikes the first time). Letter 3 was a hit. Letter 4, also common, also a strike the first time, was strike 3.
I tried to turn on crash reporting, and think it is on now, but even if the first start was a crash I might not have had reporting on in time.
Does game have a timer? This time I finished it, and the three strikes were all valid (which means that one strike the first time as not). And game probably didn’t crash (probably doesn’t think it crashed), since I got 60 points for solving it with 3 strikes.
Meanwhile, I’m still confused as to what happened after 4 strikes the first time, then no further game action by me. Did going to another app automatically end the first game? Would just sitting there without changing app just have ending the first game? I’m not sure what I did, including possibly (but don’t think so) closing the app, but I know I did not get a fifth strike the first time.
Did you change the streak logic? I feel sure (and suspect I reported in this thread), that when I got a puzzle wrong before, it ended my daily puzzle streak. Now my daily puzzle streak is 3 which is inconsistent with the streak ending on a loss today. And while I’m not sure if the loss count (now showing 3) counts a loss today, somehow it must think I had a loss today since the eventual success did not include the 100 point bonus for first try.
The phone has no analytics for Word of the Ring, so it didn’t recognize it as a crash, or crash reporting wasn’t on, or something.
Once the program goes into logic that it was never meant to hit, who knows what will happen. Once I get the latest update approved for distribution by apple, hopefully everything will work out fine.
