Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

Do they prevent a group of 25 people from assembling anywhere? Even outdoors where there is 0 evidence of significant spread of the virus?

Where in the US is it illegal for 25 people to assemble outdoors?

MA — I suppose 26 is where it becomes illegal, 25 is the current limit.

An i misreading this? It looks like 150 to me

With a limit of 25 for homes that aren’t “event venues” or “public”

Interestingly, the constitution applies to homes too.

Is it a matter of degree? Is there a number where it would be okay? Or a level of chance of spreading the virus?

I agree that some states went too far. Others didn’t go far enough. And very few of them really had any teeth.

Given the strong evidence that outdoor spread is rare, there should be 0 restrictions on masked outdoor gathering at this point.

I agree. Is there a level of risk where it would be okay, though? If so, whereabouts would you put it?

E(excess deaths due to gathering) > some small number. 1 or 3, or something like that.

Thanks. So, it’s not a strict “inalienable rights” thing, it’s a “not enough risk to impose on the inalienable right” thing. I think that’s reasonable.

I mean, ideally, rights are permanent, but that’s not the society we have now. People are too selfish/self-absorbed. It would be great if people just did the right thing without government interfering, but that’s not where we are.

IFYP, Ms Hawk.

Let individuals, along with their personal physicians, make their own risk determinations & set their own risk tolerance.

Eh, I lean fairly libertarian, but in places where the hospitals are overwhelmed then I think some restrictions make sense.

Certainly wearing masks indoors at the grocery store to protect the workers makes sense to me.

I do think that in another month or two when we’re truly at the point where anyone who wants a vaccine has gotten fully vaccinated and hit their “fully protected” date then it makes more sense to start rolling back mask mandates.

But I do think it’s probably time to let people gather in homes if they want… so long as the hospitals aren’t too overwhelmed.

Where are hospitals overwhelmed?

(Other than Victoria, Australia)

Except instead of personal physician they’re listening to those spouting hydroxychloroquine cures and alien DNA.
