Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

With your ginger complexion, gaslighting is not a good look, Ms Ball.

In terms of “keep[ing] their people safe” (as if that’s even the state’s job or capability)…

Surely these 10 states (ok, 9 plus DC) must be the ones you’re talking about where people aren’t getting vaccinated?

Pfizer #1 is done. I feel fine, it was easy. I’m going to take some Melatonin soon and hope to sleep through the night, but I guess we’ll see.

Get a shot before you take that shot.

Sure, that would get the Trumpkins vaccinated, but I think free beer would work too.

the pattern being “densely populated states plus WV”?

My guess is that it’s really “states where newer variants have gotten a good foothold”, but I suppose it will take a while for the data to be analyzed and a good understanding of what facilitates the spread to be understood. I suspect weather is important.

Also I thought most states were supposed to provide for the common welfare. No?

I’m not exactly sure the “pattern” Eric was alluding to, but my actuarial nature immediately goes to those were (almost exactly) the same states that had the highest hospitalization rates 12 months ago. I think there’s a word for that.

Another pattern is these states have been doing all those things I’m sure you meant by “keep their people safe.” In fact, some of them have been among the most ardent NPI adherents. No “Neanderthal thinking” in any of these states, no sir.

I fully acknowledge there can be differences in opinion on what this phrase includes. I may be an outlier, but “suspend ‘inalienable, Creator-endowed’ rights to impose safety theater against a germ, ignoring all other risks or costs” isn’t part of that, imo. YMMV.

I didn’t realize that walking into shops without a face covering is an inalienable creator-endowed right. How do you feel about laws requiring pants?

I feel like your avatar would violate them, if they existed. I also feel like false equivalencies that bad attached to straw men that flimsy show you have no interest in engaging in a good faith discussion, so good night, Ms Ball.

What straw man is that? What are the inalienable rights you want back?

why do you call Ms Van Pelt, Ms Ball? Especially when your avatars exist in a common universe?

I was corrected once when I called her “Miss Van Pelt,” and I do learn from feedback.

Although, come to think of it, that may have been back on the AO, and I shouldn’t be so quick to assume that “AO Lucy” & this one are the same. I think I’ve noticed this “Lucy” refer to “Schroeder” more than “Ricky,” so maybe you are right, Mr Zombie.

She can always correct me (again?) if I fail to use her preferred sobriquet.

Uh, check the avatar.

Uh, it was the same avatar when I was corrected.

But, duly noted, Miss Van Pelt.

Naw, I used a Lucille Ball avatar for quite a while. I’ve never referred to “Ricky” while using this one.

Standing in line for a second jab. I have a busy week, I’m hoping for minimal side effects. :crossed_fingers:

Still better than having COVID.

True. That was a lot worse.

Looks like either my metro area hit a tipping point of people being vaxxed or we started to get more supply.

According to vaccine spotter, I currently count 15 places with openings (CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart) w/in 15 miles of my zip code. And these places have been open all morning. Most times those openings are snatched up in a minute or 2. Also a couple of the big local health systems have been putting out messages that they have nothing by openings for shots.

Seeing the same in my area, and definitely has me concerned as we are no where near herd immunity percentages when counting 1st shots.

Hopefully people who were in the less aggressive lot will start getting vaccinated.
