What's up with the ao?

RIP AO

This is a sad day

really shitty how DW Simpson handled this.

not that I’m using a recruiter any time soon, but no way I’d use them after this. So inconsiderate with all this history on there. I’m angry.

Yeah I think they underestimated the importance of the community.

Hopefully this one can help fill the void

Quite sad. I’m grateful we have a landing place, hopefully it will grow into the large shoes left behind.

Could not agree more… I’m shocked at how clueless they are.

I’m not sure I did quoting right… does my quote of ao_fan look right to others? It looks weird to me.

nope. looks terrible

it didn’t work, but not sure why since my quoting does the same thing in the box right now.

will see if mine works…

But I saw that someone posted the back door on Facebook and was worried that DW Simpson might see that. I wonder if that’s what led them to shut it down.

I can’t figure out how emojis work on this site! :crying:

Well heck if I know!

So how do you do emojis? I picked out the crying emoji and I thought I selected it but the dang thing wouldn’t appear in my post!

the back door has been posted all over the place. I’m not sure they shut it down or whatever license they had to the ip ran out or something? i’m not sure how websites work.

oh, but i DID see who i assume was the new administrator logged into the ao a few days ago, so they must have known we were still there.

i had made a thread to say hi and ask them not to kill it in suggestions.

Can you edit posts? I was going to see if I could fix the one with the messed up quote.

Argh! I’m an old dog who doesn’t want to learn new tricks!

The key thing is not to type anything else on the line that has the end-quote tag.

I expect this post to work

Can you edit posts
[/quote] but this one will look weird, because i kept typing on the line with the close quote tag.

Yes, you can edit. Look for a little pencil icon under your post.

ooooh, I was just thinking that might have been the problem since that was the only difference between how twig quoted and how i did. guess it is.

Yep, I just figured that out, thanks!

Ok, I fixed the original messed up quote post. Going back in and adding two carriage returns works. Testing if you can type on the very next row or if the blank row is necessary…

Blank row between the quote and your text is not necessary.

Can you multi-quote? And how do you do emojis after you find the one you want?

Multi-quoting (quoting someone else’s quote) works if you including the quoted text in what you are highlighting.
