What's for Lunch?

This inspired me to make red beans and rice. Just the Zatarain’s (sp?) stuff, nothing fancy. With andouille sausage, really hits the spot.

Tortilla pizza. Sauce, provolone, goat cheese, and roasted red pepper on a burrito-sized tortilla. Not terrible.

Office chili cooking contest. I’m just judging - all good, especially with Fritos, shredded cheese, and a side of fresh-baked corn muffins.

Haven’t eaten yet but a tomato-based vegetable soup sounds excellent right now and I’ll be having some soon.

I wanted to make Gazpacho for dinner since it’s been so hot lately but wife doesn’t care for it. Since our Zucchini has been prolific this summer we compromised on a cold zucchini soup, I hope it’s good.

Next time I see leeks on sale I’m gonna throw down on a batch of vichyssoises.

The soup was good. Having it again for lunch. Here is the recipe if anyone is interested. We dropped the onion and I substituted banana peppers for the poblano (had them in our garden) and just cooked them with the fennel bulb.

Sardines + celery

:bangbang: just last night I opened the refrigerator door and saw a jar of pickles, so I stabbed a couple of small ones for a quick snack . I rarely eat pickles, but back in the day my mom would can dozens of jars of them.
