What's for dinner?

Hosting trivia tonight. I do it once a month. I eat dinner at either McDonald’s or Wendy’s on those days. My monthly fast food meal. (Wish we had a White Castle near here…)

Most of the places I go feed the host as part of the deal. Is it a brewery/no food/food truck only kind of place?

Two skyline chili coneys.

It was one regular sized hot dog with fries, a soda and a small sundae for desert.

:cheese: :shortcake: :factory: !!! :yum:

It’s a brewery. But I’ve never been given food when I did it at places that served food. Just drinks.

Sounds like an appetizer. lol

On Saturday, my wife made a pork belly appetizer over some hash with an apricot drizzle.

I make double cut pork chops, with roasted potatoes and honey glazed carrots and parsnips.

They treated the interns today, so there was a bunch of leftovers. Brown rice, “seasoned vegetables” (I took all the cauliflower and sweet potatoes and left the carrots), and little chunks of steak. I’m not sure what it was supposed to be other than what it was. That is, it was good but I kept thinking it felt like there should be something else that would make it easier to categorize.

Meatloaf, half a baked potato and asparagus. Jello for desert.

A beef poke bowl?

I guess you could look at it that way, although everything had been cooked (but was cold by the time I got there, so I guess that kind of works). But I was looking around for, I don’t know, tortillas or chimichurri or something else.

But that reminds me. I noticed just today that the poke place closest to work had closed. I’d been there a few times and it was empty each time, so I"m not surprised. There’s one very close to home that I similarly have only been to a few times and I think I need to work a little more on keeping them in business.

I know what I’m eating this weekend.

Saturday, family over for a fish fry. I do the cooking for that one, but worth it.

Sunday, the local greek orthodox church has their fundraiser, we head over there every year. And I get a big lamb dinner roasted over coals. nom nom.

Using 95% beef to offset SOME of the fat from the bacon.

I only make them a couple times a year. Next might be Labor Day weekend.
