Someone complained about not being able to charge and listen with wired headphone with a dongle at the same time, saying they often charged their phone while listening. While there are dongles that will allow you to charge and listen at the same time, I suggested an alternative without getting a split dongle.
And I think it all came up because someone posted that Millennials are now ditching wireless headphones and going back to wired. I thing only about half of the stuff in this thread is not tongue in cheek.
the camera is pretty darn good now that i rushed to the store just for the dude to remove the plastic thingy covering it. i took a picture of my office and itās very life-like.
hmmmm, if itās not a replacement for the S, the stores seem to be treating it as such by only displaying the Z and no longer ordering the s. the 2nd store i went to just happened to have one left in stock.
so when i bought the phone, they include the wire for the charger, but you have to buy the charger at an extra cost. thatās already wtf worthy, but above that, the sales person told me that the charger for my old phone wonāt work with my new phone. THAT WAS A LIE. yes, the wire they give you for the new phone wonāt work with the old charger, but the old charger works just fine. i think it takes maybe 10 more minutes to charge.
I got this one a while back and itās been great. Wireless charging would be nice I guess but itās not a big deal imo. Probably going to move up to the pixel 6 eventually and give the 4a to my tween daughter. She will need a phone soon.
I donāt think you can buy a ābadā phone these days. I broke my pixel 4a (which was quite nice) and replaced it with the cheapest burner on available for Fi (the Moto Play for $50 + $50 credit) and I canāt tell the difference in quality.
My phone is a few years old. I doubt most people could tell any difference in screen resolution, processing power, or camera resolution between it and a top of the line new one.
Phones are a complete sales job. You gotta have better resolution than your current phone? Really, whenās the last time anyone cared about resolution on their phone.
Iād be surprised if I couldnāt tell the difference in battery power. For me, starting to lose charge too quickly is when I usually start shopping. Modern phone batteries seem fine for the first 2 years, but theyāve started declining for me if they get much older. I saw a huge difference in battery performance when I recently switched.
Well phones do get nicer over time, but Iād argue the annual leaps in technology are getting smaller. Features now compared to features 2 years ago arenāt that big, but batteries do eventually lose their effectiveness
This is true⦠but battery life is getting better. The latest iPhones, for example, will go something like two hours longer per charge than the prior model. So even if it degrades a bit you have some buffer there, so to speak.
But Iām with you, I normally replace my phone every two years, and at this point it might be better to replace the battery and maybe buy a new case and itāll feel like a new phone!
In taking the same picture on my new phone vs old phone, the new one is clearly nicer. I tested that out last night with pictures that were transferred over of things I could replicate. New one was nicer on all of them.
I very rarely take pics with my phone. Itās usually just a quick snap of something in a store that Iāll text my wife. Or something sappy like sending her a selfie and saying that I love her.
Most other things I use my camera. It goes everywhere with me. The 18-35mm lens is good for most stuff.
