Spent most of Saturday and Sunday preparing house and food for guests for MiL birthday.
Friday night spent wine drinking (way too expensive and not worth it) but the cover band was pretty good.
Saturday night spent beer tasting, the cover band was merely good. Place had A/C inside but was louder than a rock concert, and that was BEFORE the band started up. I insisted we brave the heat outdoors and find some shade.
Sunday aft/eve, opened five wine bottles (three were our own, two others were arboledas from BiL, because thatās what he wanted.
Friday: After work, went to the beach. Grilled ribs and listened to live music. A Beatles Cover Band, billed as a Billy Joel cover band, that played 3-4 Joel songs in the first set, then maybe half the 2nd set. No Beatles. Gorgeous night.
Saturday: Drove (5 hrs) to our daughter in western Maryland to meet Boyfriendās (live in) parents for the first time. Nothing imminent, just was tough to do with COVID. Very nice people we had a good connection with. Would be by far the favorite of my machatunim (feel free to look it up). Dinner out, nice walk for ice cream, then wife and I watched the Met game on the hotelās roof top bar
Sunday: Drove to Baltimore to have breakfast with our son and his fiancĆ©ā. Then drove to Philly for the Mets game. What a game, we had a third of the stadium, closer to half near the end. Drove home, got in around 10.
Donated plasma
Friday I got my TSA security passport (or whatever it is). So then I went for a trail run in Roanoke. Hit up PArkway brewery post run.
Saturday did some yard cleanup. Saturday night I went to the local minor league baseball game. They also had fireworks. I invited Liz, but she didnāt want to go. āI would, but only day off and catch up on houseworkā) I got to stop asking her out.
Sunday night poker group with 8 playas
Friday, went to brewery after dinner. Played Scrabble(r). At home, caught up on āLove After lockupā.
Saturday, Gym, then sonās basketball tryout, come home to clogged toilets. All of them. Opened cleanout, tons of water, so I know itās from there to to street somehow.
Rented 75ā snake from Home Depot. Almost got my hand crushed in the coil (very bad bruise on the back of my hand). Eventually got it done. Watched Argo for the first time.
Sunday: gym. Sonās scrimmage football game. Early dinner. Some TV and watched the first episode of āHouse of the Dragonā Eh. Will give S01E02 a shot next week.
Took the kids to a metro park. Quilted. Played Clue with my sisters online on the Switch. Played Clue by myself most of the day yesterday. Worked for 1-2 hours.
It was definitely a good weekend, much less busy than last weekend.
I went to Roanoke in 2019, itās a really beautiful part of the country. Didnāt get to see a ton, the O Winston Link museum was pretty neat.
Very industrial. And a weird amount of really expensive supercars.
Backstory, one of my student friendās heads to work at a summer camp for a month. Meanwhile his gf is moving home (they live together) and heās moving there too after camp. Gf calls me as sheās packing, buddy left all his guns. And itās illegal to transport them if youāre not licensed. So, I pick them up and store them at my place. Then they realize her parents canāt fit all her stuff and his stuff into their car and move home. So, I load my truck with his entire lifeās possessions and store them at my place.
Meanwhile, he rides his ebike to camp. Itās a 2.5 hour drive from uwaterloo. He leaves at 10am and arrives at camp at 230am. Dudeā¦you canāt do that drive back.
Sunday at 4pm I get a text from him. Covid has gone through the camp, heās been isolated, but they need the room now. So at 4, I load all his belongings and drive the 2.5 to the camp. Load his ebike amongst all his stuff. Drive about 3 hours to his gfās house in torrential rain. Unload his stuff, then about 2 hours home. Was a pretty late night last night.
Pros, it was my turn to make dinner last night, so cool I got out of that.
Cons, apparently Iām making dinner tonite.
couldnāt you crash there until morning?
I think that is a different museum, the one I saw was related to trains.
Beach weekend.
Grilled Saturday night. There were some local professional fireworks we could see from where we were. stayed until around 10:00. got in a movie in the a.m. and a lot of progress in both books.
Sunday. Standard breakfast at diner. only stayed at beach until 6:00 had Chinese at home. A lot of reading. Installed a Ring doorbell.
Most do nothing weekend in a long time
I actually have plans!! We are taking our kids to this thing tomorrow: https://otherworldohio.com/
trippy.
take some shrooms while youāre at it
Heading to the beach today. Itās really hot so I expect a big crowd there.
I noticed this morning that I have tickets to a twenty one pilots concert in Charlotte tomorrow. I knew I had them, I just didnāt realize that it was tomorrow (technically itās today).
Both husband and I immediately rejected the idea of travelling two weekends in a row. We are now 1 for 4 on attending top concerts that Iāve already purchased tickets for.
Pressed F5 over and over again until I booked my omicron booster.
In Nashville. Visiting friends. Picking up my truck. Did some furniture shopping, washed a dog, going to an octoberfest at Jackalope Brewery today.
Thatās almost a song that I would expect to hear in nashville.
I didnt book it yet, but i see plenty of availability. Why you need to press f5?
