I think I kind of remember you mentioning this? Wasnāt there a trip planned where the hs friend was going to bring along his mistress or something? Or maybe Iām mixing up the stories.
Sounds like an everyone lost kind of situation. Sad to see lifelong friendships end, regardless of circumstances.

Wonderful you still have your dad. Sadly I am already older than mine was when he passed away.
yes, and he lives alone. but content, not lonely.
sleeps 9 - 10 hours a night
reads (non fiction only), had cataract surgery last week
eats extremely well (complete restaurant meals with dessert), and still around 150 lbs
doesnāt get technology, but uses an ipad to read news, look at pictures, play games
mobility issues (walker). and willingly gave up his car ( has a cabby/ driver he uses)
My kids were blessed to all be in their 20s with 4 grandparents. Dad is now the last one left.

Busy busy weekend
Friday night - went to see Mamma Mia with the wife
Saturday morning - went to our farm to check out CRP grass progress and do a little fishing
Saturday night - friends came over for dinner then some Catan after kids went to bed
Sunday morning - built lockers for our entry way
Sunday night - 4th of July party at my grandmas
Monday morning - went out on the boat and caught a bunch of catfish
Monday night - went and watched the fireworks with the family
Tuesday morning - went and golfed with a friend
Tuesday night - went to in laws to celebrate father-in-law and brother-in-lawās birthdays

Saturday Afternoon - Mets Game
Saturday Night - Dinner at favorite Restaurant Bar, Live Music
Sunday Day - Beach
Sunday Night - Dinner out (my favorite restaurant, walkable from house), with friends
Sunday Late - saw fireworks while sitting on my deck
Monday - Beach all day, invited SiL and BiL grilled dinner
Tuesday Morning - 9 holes Golf (first time in two years)
Tuesday rest - Beach, including Brunch & Dinner

Went to the keg for our thirtieth anniversary. Ate too muchā¦a day later Iām still full.
Was going to go for a long trail ride and lunch at a brewery but spouse wanted a day at home. So we swapped that for a bike ride locally then it threatened to rain so we didnāt do that either.
In my defence we still go on dates so neither of us are particularly pressured to do stuff on specific dates. We had a long bike ride and lunch out as a date last weekend.
