Went to a Kentucky Derby party, complete with a casino, a mint julep, a drawing for bottles of bourbon, the whole thing. It was a really fun night out. It was a charity fundraiser, long story but we got free tickets from the police department.

Other than that, the usual. Bit of yard work, some cleaning. Probably going to wash my car once the heat breaks, it topped 90° today, oof.

As in, while they were on the boat they got high (presumably via mj)? …or being on the boat was such a great experience that they would consider it a high? …or they were in the “front” of the boat when you floored the engine and in reference to everyone & everything else they were pretty high up there?

Assuming the first one, does the mj help with motion sickness? (Though, I’ve never felt ill on a fishing boat…or skiing boat…)

As in they smoked a joint and then later did some type of device that dispensed thc.

They were funny as hell, and me and the other guy were laughing at/with them. Plus, it was a sunny day, the water was as smooth as glass and we were catching fish. O e of the most fun days Ive had in many years.

The Asian guy was quiet, but had fun. The white guy I called him an effin hobo lol. He’s in poly sci, lotta fun. The Indian guy is someone who’s going places; smart, opiniated but still laid back and fun, he’s one to watch. These are the kinds of people I get to meet, really the upper crust of ‘interesting bright young people’.

We don’t go out in my boat in weather that would cause motion sickness. It’s 16 feet, too small for waves

Spent the weekend in Hue, Vietnam. We are taking an overnight train to Hanoi tonight where my son and I will spend the last week of our trip.

We hired a guide from my son’s former company for a tour of the Imperial City in Hue. The guide’s grandfather was a driver for a senior US commander during the Vietnam War which was an interesting position to have held after the war ended! Many of the guide’s clients are US veterans whom he takes to the former DMZ.

Weather hit 40C both days of the weekend with high humidity. That limited sightseeing to mornings and evenings. Food is fantastic here so dining is delightful.

Most of my weekend was taken up with trying to figure out how to correctly transfer iPhones to Google Fi (including finding out a offing my daughter purchased “unlocked” was not actually unlocked yet). Why is switching cell phone carriers such a PITA? And trying to bring iPhones to google was simply an extra piece bc iOS is in “beta” on the carrier.

I think all the kinks are finally worked out/settings correctly setup, and most of it was done in between dining other things around the house but it definitely took more time than it should have. And once again I learn how little customer support actually knows.

Went an annual Homebrewers festival that takes place next to a bunch of mountain bike trails. So bike, drink, eat, sleep, repeat. Lots of fun, plus there was a phenomenal cover band playing during the last 2 hours of Saturday’s event. Just mind-blowing talent on display. It was unexpected and really capped off the weekend nicely.

Hopefully, you’re not too busy to name this years FSP contest.

Another weekend of doing nothing I wanted to do.

Spent the weekend exploring Hanoi and Halong Bay with my son as we wind up our three week Cambodia and Vietnam holiday.

Hanoi is a fascinating city and we spent 5 days walking around taking in the sights and experiences. Many European tourists here but we only heard one American: a Vietnam War vet at the “Hilton-Hanoi.

If you like stimulating, interesting cities Hanoi is a wonderful destination. Halong Bay is beautiful.

When are EPL matches on there?
Asking for a friend.

Went to a wedding. Wedding and feasts were fine. Getting to it and back were the major negatives. Free drinking made up for it a little. Being overly careful about what we ate and drank were also negatives. We came through clean, others were not as fortunate.

UK is six hours earlier than Vietnam.

It’s academic for me since no tv coverage in my hotels of EPL (or NHL or NBA). Nice to be sports free for a few weeks other than checking scores. I suppose the high end hotels have the sports channels but I am a three star hotel guy.
