My son is catching me up on all the Clone Wars’ and some other series’ characters.
Also, something that has bugged me, about the whole Star Wars Universe: why does gravity affect some things but not others? You’d think that since anything can be made to float, no one would bother walking, and everyone would be like those fat blobs in WALL-e.
I watched the first two episodes of season 9 of Letterkenny. I know what you mean; it didn’t have the same feel as post seasons. I wondered if it was my mood at the time.
Felt like they needed to get everything we’ve grown accustomed to over 8 years into the current season. Felt like they just crammed it in.
Maybe I’m weird, but a Letterkenny / Schitt’s Creek crossover would be epic.
I didn’t like the first two episodes of season 1, but then it got better. I agree that session one (sans the first two episodes) was stronger. I didn’t love the final episode for lots of reasons, but it was okay. My least favorite was the frog lady episode because
I am still pissed at baby Yoda for eating her eggs.
Watching Season 4 of The Crown. Disappointed with their more substantial deviations from reality.
Like… it’s fine that they placed the Camilla/Diana lunch during Chuck & Di’s engagement at the restaurant Ménage a Trois in my opinion. The two did meet for lunch during Diana’s engagement. They did eat at that particular restaurant after the wedding. I think that’s kind of harmless.
But implying that Thatcher was distracted from the Falklands due to her son’s disappearance is just wrong. He went missing and was found 6 days later in mid-January 1982 when no one had ever heard of the Falkland Islands. Argentina didn’t invade the Falklands until April when Mark Thatcher had been home for months. That’s the kind of thing I wish they’d get right.
I didn’t put spoilers because these are real-life historic events that I assume people have at least a passing familiarity with.
Also in Titanic the boat sinks.
How is it real life history if the show changes history and you tell the events of the show?
Eh, giving away how the show slightly alters historic events doesn’t seem like it’s in the same category as giving away the twist at the end of The Sixth Sense.

Done with Season 2 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (8 episodes on Prime). Very entertaining and just what you expect. The ending was pretty obvious from early on.
Just finished The Queen’s Gambit. I’ve seen some great TV series this year (coz Covid) but I think this was my favorite, narrowly pipping out Succession, Trapped (Iceland), Line of Duty (UK), True Detective and The Missing(UK). All the others were from previous years but 2020 was a good year to catch up.
Cool bit of trivia for Dr Who fans, the actor who played Harry Beltik in Queen’s Gambit is Patrick Troughton’s grandson.
And he was Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter movies.
Been bingeing The Last Kingdom on Netflix since yesterday. If you’re a fan of Vikings, this show may interest you. It’s loosely based on the history of the Danish vikings conquering England, and King Alfred’s response.
Mr Right is excellent.
Finished season 2 of Altered Carbon on Netflix. It has been available for a while, just got to it. Quite violent, more so than I remember from season 1. Good story line and it really moved along quite quickly. Left open another season.
Watched Season 1 of The Mandalorian after breaking down and paying for Disney Plus. It’s pretty good. We’ll watch Season 2.
But now that Season 3 of Cobra Kai is out, The Mandalorian is taking a back seat.
