What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

I might do another binge of severance soon.

Binged Season 3 of Shoresy last night. It’s probably the best fictional hockey show since Slapshot.

Absolutely loved it.

Watched the first 6 or 7 episodes of welcome to Wrexham to get familiar with the team and their story. Going to their match on Saturday. Should be a hoot!

This gave me a little chuckle, as being south of the border, these are the only two fictional hockeys shows I think I’ve ever heard of. Oh wait, The Mighty Ducks, too.

I was interested about the transition of Captain America to the new guy, so I started watching “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. I didn’t even make it through the first episode.

Just finished the series.
It is a lot about townsfolk and Rob and Ryan. Football takes up, say, 30% of the series, even when adding in Women’s team footage.

It is a unique case of football creating an economy, whereas in most cases the growing/lagging economy leads to local football success/failure, according to Soccernomics.

Didn’t think we would, but Peacock was $36 for a year, because my wife works for a school district.

Besides the obvious (EPL and Poker Face), anything else worth my valuable time?
Not sure how many EPL matches I’ll watch per week. Could be only one, but will watch any conTROVersies.

Mrs. Davis was pretty fun. I don’t think there will be a second season, but they wrapped it up pretty well so the one season stands on its own imo.

Olympics?

Not worth my time. Will watch the soccer. The rest is a drug fest. Kevin Hart and Keenan Thompson are putting on an interesting show. We’ll see if they get the hammer put down on them for making fun of people they shouldn’t.

My wife and I blitzed our way through the second season of Kleo on Netflix. My wife doesn’t usually enjoy shows where many people get shot in the head but this one had enough plot, humour and good acting to counterbalance the violence.

Kleo is a former Stasi agent who gets double-crossed and imprisoned. Most of the show is about her investigations and conflict after her release into a group that wants Germany to become another Soviet Republic rather than a democratic, capitalist country.

First complaint: No skip feature. Just FF with no VCR-like feed. So you have no idea when to stop the FF. Sucks. And it’s real fast, like a minute in three seconds. And that’s the slowest setting.
I mean, sure, it was nice to FF to Winslet’s wonderful breasts in “Titanic” but you’d have to have memoroized the hour-minute on it.
(This was research, to see if there was any nudity I’m paying for on Peacock, and not just more of Carlin’s “Seven Dirty Words.”)

Didn’t realize a second season was out. Will watch.

I’d never watched Brooklyn Nine Nine. Into season 5 and really like it.

Eh. Maybe after one last watch of The Office, bonus versions.

Still slogging through MASH on Hulu.

that is on my list. we chose 30 rock ahead of it for the same premise (22 minutes w potential laughing) and it has delivered bigly. looking forward to B99

Finished House of The Dragon. Not really bingeing it, as we were watching every Sunday (or Monday).
So, two more seasons. According to canon:

There are a shitload of land and dragon fights to get through.

It was a fairly slow season action wise.

on Season 5 of Breaking Bad. Enjoying the dramatic turn.

also watching a bunch of Olympics. Thoroughly enjoyed the rugby, some sharpshooting & archery, BMX cross, whitewater kayak, rowing, track & field (I especially like the drama of the middle distances, 800m through steeplechase and up to 5k), cycling (mountain bike, road race, and now speed track), some of the swimming (gets a little old), some wrestling & judo, and will also watch the closing ceremonies. [Got bored and annoyed with the opening ceremonies.]

Agreed. Dragons cost too much.

Also, economic analysis: Dragons cost a shitload to maintain. Basically taxing poor people by taking their domesticated animals.
