Started Lessons in Chemistry on AppleTV. It is 8 episodes and we are now 3 in. it’s good, but I wasn’t prepared for the early twist
Just started Resident Alien - enjoying it so far.
Just finished Deadloch, crime drama set in Australia (Tasmania). Enjoyed very much.
my inlaws love that one
Finished the True Detective season last night.
OMG we were NOT supposed to figure this out??
We are halfway through Season 4. My wife finds True Detective a bit upsetting so we are going slowly through the episodes. We have to intersperse them with episodes of Loudermilk to lighten the mood.
Blue Eyed Samurai was stellar entertainment. Decidedly graphic series, but the actual storytelling was also great.
I finished Schmicago. I liked it a little less than Schmigadoon for the reasons the main characters actually point out, which was kind of funny in itself. The combination of the darker Chicago/Caberet/SweeneyTodd with Hair/JesusChristSuperstar/Godspell, with their wildly different styles was kind of odd. The PhantomOfTheOpera reference was really funny. Do We Shock You was particularly funny, I thought, in noting that what might have shocked not all that long ago is commonplace/accepted. I think I noticed more direct musical references in Schmicago than Schmigadoon, but I suppose that’s more about my familiarity with the musicals than about what they copied. It’s too bad there’s not going to be a 3rd season, although what would it have been? Schmamilton, I suppose?
I just started The Afterparty and I’m not drawn in yet. Since this is balanced against canceling Apple TV, I’m guessing I’ll only give it a short period before I bail.
Is there any other must-see on Apple TV before I cancel?
watching the office UK.
The Afterparty!!! It’s good! Give it some more ep’s. Second season is also good!
They could have a war between Hamilton characters and 1776 characters!
New season just came out. We’re excited.
Schmats and lion king?
My husband has been watching a lot of White Collar, which is one of his comfort shows, while I nap or screw around on the internet or baste quilts on the living room floor. I don’t care for the show, but I’ve been following along for several days.
Restarted Monk from the beginning.
Started S3 of True Detective. Was let down by S2 when it came out so never watched S3. Really liking it after 2 episodes.
started Loudermilk. def some laughs. one of the farrelly brothers is involved, which can be great. it hits a bad nerve when they use people with disabilities as props (a character w down syndrome). that was an early setback for more effusive likeability at my house
Idris puts his professional stamp on pretty much everything he touches.
Even those DC Comic movies.
Need to rewatch Luther (I think I came in late), then watch the movie, wherever it is streaming these days.
Tubi with ads (possibly edited for US morals). Or fricken’ two bucks per episode from Apple or Prime??
Just finished S3 this week. Definitely some cringy stuff through out the series. My wife liked it a lot and I found it funny enough to stay wit it. If they eventually do find funding and home for S4 I’ll probably watch but if they don’t I doubt I’ll miss it.
Apparently the creator said he had enough material and story arcs for 7 seasons but someone’s gotta pay for it I guess.
Just watched Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence on Amazon. Interesting cast with Bill Nighy and Matthew Goode among others. I didn’t know the story, but they did a good job. Only 3 1 hour episodes.
