Finally starting on Hijack.
Got around to the last two seasons of Succession. Phenomenal show and I may even rate it higher than Breaking Bad for my all my time favorite (of completed shows). Really satisfying Shakespearian finish. Acting, sets and writing were all brilliant.
I’ve been spending half an hour for each episode reading all the comments in The Guardian just to get an extra fix.
We watched all seven episodes and now it’s 3am.
I cant read that without thinking of the classic Airplane scene.
Actually, that whole movie was classic.
I finished Psych this weekend. It didn’t taper off too much at the end, except it seemed they already mostly were tapering off Juliet already by season 7. I was disappointed when they got rid of her, but the few Mira Sorvino episodes were all good.
I’ve got season 1 of Ghosts, but, at my daughter’s suggestion, might try Schmigadoon instead.
Schmigadon and Schmicago were both fun.
Toast of London
(I love Matt Berry)
That is such a fun watch.
Because he’s always doing voiceover, it reminds me of Alan Tudyk & Con Man
started The Great on Hulu. One episode in. will see how long it lasts
Finished second season of Good Omens. Really like that series. Needs a third season though.
I felt like the 2nd season was primarily a set-up for a 3rd season. We obviously got some back story for Aziraphale and Crowley, but I feel like it was intentionally incomplete.
I think "The After-Party is a much better whodunit than “Only Murders…” I like how each character’s versions of what they saw are set in the tone of the character (sets, costumes, even the way they are filmed/recorded). First Season Zoe was animated, while another character’s was Musical.
Sometime between the end of main Rebels arc and the epilogue/episode 1 of Ahsoka is what i think.
Episode 1 of Ahsoka is around 10 ABY, i believe.
Also, we just literally finished our rewatch just as E1 came available.
Rebels was better than I expected it to be.
Watching final season of “Archer.” Not bingeing, but might have to (on Hulu) due to fucking Disney (who now owns FXX) and fucking Spectrum not getting along.
Meanwhile TiVo’ed a few episodes with the the classic lines – there are plenty of classic lines but these still crack me up every time I hear them:
Lana’s Dad: Lana Anthony Kane, what are you doing with those guns?
(Archer laughs)
Lana: What, are you laughing about?
Archer: Your middle name is ‘Anthony’?
Lana: After Susan B Anthony!
Archer: Ha-HA! Our ugliest President!
Also
Lana, from the bathroom (different episode): Then why, is there A VAGINA, IN THE SINK?!?!?
I never finished Archer, now that you mention it. I should do that.
Kept hearing good reviews of The Righteous Gemstones (e. g. comedic version of Succession) so watched the first episode of Season 1 last night. It was quite entertaining but not sure whether to invest further time in it? Televangelists are such an easy target and episode one has already introduced most of the vices of the worst televangelists. Not sure what is left to satirize?
Looking for input from others as to whether they enjoyed later episodes. I have found the critics in this forum to be pretty reliable. (Hope that just doesn’t mean that actuaries all like the same thing.)
I enjoyed it. the family is just plain awful in grotesque ways, but usually funny
That was my read as well, it’s funny but I’m not sure I want to keep going.
I finally, finally watched The Wire recently, finished it over the weekend. No real excuse other than I didn’t have HBO for a long time. Great series with good arcs of character development.
My wife is watching this and I think I’ll try to catch up and watch it with her.
