I didn’t realize the Ted Lasso finale was last night. I managed to watch two episodes: Amsterdam (which was weird) and Total Football which was great.
I don’t think I understand the Keely and Jack thing. Does Keely really like Jack or does she feel pressured into this relationship. Is Jack obsessive or what? I loved the Sense and Sensibility 1st edition tho.
Eta:
My daughter has decided she wants to watch the whole TL series so I’ll probably have to keep Apple TV a few more months. I want to watch more of Bad Sister anyway.
Yeah, who schedules a friendly mid-season? That far away?
Not talking World Cup break or extended Winter break (EPL doesn’t have it, though the Eredivsie does, and Ajax do play friendlies during it and during international breaks, but that means some players would not be available).
So, enough nit-picky soccer issues with Ted.
The show apparently needed one more gay relationship and not show any sex. Just clean, fun swearing and voila, the edgy TV-MA rating!
Duggars getting raked over the coals in new documentary.
Also, shame on anyone who thought this the TLC serieses, not this documentary) was entertaining at all. Or worse, thought, “what a great way to raise a family.”
In The L.A. times, today there was an overview of it. The one paragraph that caught my eye:
“We were taken advantage of,” she says in the documentary, which details how Jim Bob and Michelle allegedly addressed Josh’s behavior — by sending him to an IBLP-run camp and arranging for a stern talk with a family friend in law enforcement who later went to jail on child pornography charges.
My kids have been watching all of the Star Wars cartoon stuff, and are currently watching Rebels. An episode or two in I realized - this is a remake of Firefly!
I am watching this now. I grew up in a fundie home and come from a large family (we weren’t part of their religion, it wasn’t so strict or whatever, but a lot of the same themes), so I find it very interesting.
Started and Finished the third season of Ted Lasso. Very enjoyable. Seems like no need for a fourth. Also finished Mrs. Davis. Pretty weird stuff right there. I liked how Jesus was portrayed a swarthy guy rather than a white guy. The Holy Grail was a little too weird for me though.
There’s been a lot of hype/ manufactured-controversy-which-was-really-marketing behind it because the sex and drugs subject matter is going to push the limits of TV (again).
Anyway, I thought the first episode was stupid. Sorry to say, I don’t find Lily Rose Depp particularly attractive… am I in the minority here? She cannot act, but I knew that from her breakout role in Yoga Hosers [which gets my vote for the worst movie ever made].
We have it on the TiVo. HBO has been hyping this for months, had to because “Barry” was ending.
From wiki:
The Idol 's first two episodes premiered on May 22, 2023, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival where it received highly unfavorable reviews by critics for its graphic sexual content and themes.
Unfavorable review for graphic sexual content? PornChatGPT says that does not compute.
Rewatching Ted Lasso. OMG there are so many call-backs.
At one point (Season 2, Ep 1 or 2), Jamie poses for an “ussie” with a fan, the fan looks at the pic and says, “Wicked.”
I think it’s the same fan who takes a pic with Ted near the end of the series, says “Wicked” again, and Ted replies, “Kinky Boots!”
