It may stop the calls for Biden to step down because they may think he has more of a chance. The VP debate will have more views than normal because it’s very likely one of them could be our next president, maybe within a couple of years.
He seems smart and spoke out against Trump at first. Then he turned opportunist.
It’s a low bar, but he’d be a much better POTUS than Trump, should it come to that for whatever reason. That said, he’s pretty right-wing.
Seems to hate gay people a little less than Mike Pence, but only a little less.

Democrats would do well to put out an ad illustrating the differences between Biden or Harris responding to an international crisis with experience and poise, vs. Trump or Vance doing it with idiocy and ransom demands.
