Trump Tariff Watch

There are lots of competent folks in the US like Carney but they mostly avoid public office.

We’ve had great prior presidents, I’m more worried about the ability to elect great ones in the future

are the candidates (on #bothsides) getting less good, or are the voters (on #bothsides) getting more gullible?

I think we get worse candidates because the system creates that. Trump is a great example, he only got nominated the first time because of first past the post.

I think we would get better choices with rank choice voting which might also make 3rd parties viable in some areas.

I’m not sure we can get the major parties on board with that for some obvious self serving reasons.

10 percent across the board tariffs struck down

I don’t know that 3rd parties are even strictly necessary.

However, the US does need some kind of reset to open the door to making politics less rabid/insane, which int turn might attract potential great leaders who currently have the good sense to avoid the mess.

Something something consequences…

“The opinion undoubtedly will be appealed by the United States and thus sets the stage for further consideration by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court,”

I’m not sure that these threats will go well for Trump…

I trust that ample supply has driven down the global price for tacos.

Trump administration working hard to find new tariffs on Canada. This one seems hardly worth the bother.

No! We get our mushrooms at Costco from Canada.

There will be less fungus among us.

I always wondered why Kawhi Leonard described himself as a “fun guy” when moving to Toronto.

I’ll show myself out.

You buying Morels or something??? :brown_mushroom: :face_with_monocle: :top_hat:

Too bad the US Ambassador to Canada has no ability to see the US as others see it. However that is the standard myopic vision of Republicans.

Why is Canada bothering to try to negotiate a new trade deal with the US? No meeting of the minds is possible.

how do you think they got the job?

Before Trump’s economic war on Canada, these planes would have been bought from the US.

And we are negotiating Canadian employment with all our military purchases now. Should have always done this.
