Today I learned

The lingerie shope in the mall had a sign out front for bra fittings A to … M!!! I thought it maxed out at K!!! :exploding_head:

People are getting bigger. There is no a priori limit to cup size as it is determined by (bust circumference - under bust circumference).

Women are also starting to get better about wearing the correct size, which often means a smaller band and a larger cup. Historically, a lot of stores tried to sell bras where the bust circumference was correct, but the band was too big and thus the cup size was too small. This was partially, but not entirely, due to large cup sizes being hard to make with older fabrics.

I once thought it maxed at D, then went to DD, DDD etc.

was that ever the case?

Bra sizes, as with women’s clothing sizes, tend to be dumb. It does go D, then DD, then DDD, but in the US, typically DD = E, DDD = F, and G is the next size. Some stores have DDD = E. I don’t wear those sizes so thankfully don’t have to sort through that. Then, to make things more fun, in the UK, the sizes are D, DD, E, EE, F, FF, etc. So a UK F cup is a lot bigger than a US F cup.

Today I learned that, at least in London, there is a name for people who only come into the office three days a week:

Tuesday Wednesday And Thursday workers.

(Apparently the acronym predates COVID.)

Yes, that’s true! The correct term is “Canada geese” when referring to the species. While people sometimes mistakenly call them “Canadian geese,” the proper name is “Canada goose” for one and “Canada geese” for more than one.

When we did a Canadian Rockies tour, our guide told us they are Canada not Canadian geese. She kidded and said that if they were Canadians, then they have to give them National health insurance and pension.

Those geese are mean so they can’t be Canadians. Canadians are nice.

Women in Tonga are prohibited from owning land (from a 1875 law)

I’m surprised anyone is permitted to buy land. The whole of Tonga is only about 60% the size of New York City.
