Morse code and airport tags, what can’t they do?
I prefer the early seasons’ theme. The later seasons’ are botched plenty.
Some of the movies’ are pretty good, too.
Oh, and when it was on its first run, the closing credits showed pics of the next week’s episode.
He also did the score for “Dirty Harry.” I’ll check that for Morse Code.
TIL: Soldier Field was available for Football in 1924. Chicago Bears have played there regularly only since 1970.
Renovated by taxpayers (66%) and the Bears/NFL (34%) in 2002, it now needs to be replaced yet again.
TIL about a “Michigan left” Michigan left - Wikipedia
There is one of those I pass through regularly, didn’t know it had a name. It’s a little confusing in that there is a random light in the middle of nowhere for the U-turn to happen, and I have seen a few cars blow through that on red. Probably some better signage is all that is needed.
They have a really confusing intersection right outside of the neighborhood where I grew up (right off of the Hill Field Road exit of I-15 in Layton, Utah).
Right off of the exit is a mall and, the other direction goes to the walmart and main street, and the street heads to the main gate of the Air Force base so it gets a lot of traffic.
They have made it so that there are practically no left turns (except for the one that would lead to people driving through my parents neighborhood to go left), with u-turns all over the place.
The intersection is really confusing and annoying - and it is infinitely better than ANYTHING they have ever tried there before.
Reading a NYT article on Costco: they sell an estimated $200M in gold per month. That was mentioned after a note about them selling gold coins but maybe the $200M includes jewelry, they didn’t specify.
RFK’s middle name is Francis. Not Fitzgerald like his brother.
I would be surprised if two brothers had the same middle name. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.
How Many Sons Does George Foreman Have?
George Foreman has five sons all named … George. In an interview, Foreman elaborated on the rationale behind naming all his sons George, expressing, “I chose to give all my sons the name George Edward Foreman to ensure they share a common bond. I often tell them, ‘If one of us achieves success, we all rise together, and if one faces challenges, we face them together as a united front!'”
All of my brothers and I have the same middle name.
I gotta say, this sentence showing up in the “Today I learned” thread, I learned that you had been quite obtuse for way too much of your life.
Fair enough; I forgot about them.
It’s dumb, but it counts.
Interesting. Other than George Foreman (which I chalk up as an unusual celebrity name thing) I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of that before.
I thought it was common in many Latino families
It could be… I don’t know the middle names of very many Latino men. Possibly this is just a gap in my knowledge.
I believe it is usually the mother’s surname
Maybe I just met them? Maybe I was abandoned as a child and raised by wolves? You are a jerk!
takes one to know one!
I know a few groups of sisters who have the same middle name. But I think they always knew they shared middle names.
