Oooh, now do the Liberty’s .
What about the Columbia’s?
Aren’t there 4 of them?
Liberty, Liberty, Liberty…Liberty.

I worked for an employer that had University of Puget Sound as a client, abbreviated everywhere as UPS. Then we landed United Parcel Service as a client. I emailed everyone warning of the potential for confusion and the need to be careful and a suggestion to internally not use UPS, to always spell it out.
Well an administrative assistant sent a document to the wrong client after being told “send this to UPS” and not asking for clarification. After that I was like, ok, the abbreviation UPS is hereinafter forbidden… we have to spell it out everywhere for both clients so there’s no more foul-ups.
There was STILL pushback and … of course more inadvertent mixups. I think after roughly the fourth error involving one or both clients the exec in charge finally put his foot down and implemented the rule I’d said we needed all along. ![]()
Sometimes I hate being right.
Reminds me of “Broadcast News”:
Paul Moore:
It must be nice to always believe you know better, to always think you’re the smartest person in the room.
Jane Craig:
No. It’s awful.
Haha… I don’t think I was the smartest person who worked there, but I was definitely right about that particular issue.
The name Arby’s comes from the initials R.B., which stands for Raffel Brothers not Roast Beef.
And not after the actual contents of the sandwich: Rat Butts?
Bahaha… love it. Maybe they were concerned there would be confusion between them and Taco Bell?
In a similar vein:
Sheldon: Why are you crying?
Penny: Because I’m stupid!
Sheldon: That’s no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and it makes me sad.
I hate that show
your judgment is bad and that makes me sad, so I should cry.
i’m dead inside so i won’t, but i should.
BBT is what stupid people think smart people are like
it’s idiotic
It’s a sit-com. They had some hilarious stuff, some funny stuff, some so-so stuff and some that missed the mark but overall I enjoyed the BBT.
I second meep. I watched BBT a few times but I found it weird.
If you have a hard sciences background (physics), BBT is just not very funny.
I third meep (and second Poly). I could never bring myself to watch more than 10 seconds of it. I thought Silicon Valley captured smart (and socially klutzy) people much better.
This guy f***s.
I’ve found that meep’s sense of humor is very different from mine.
So, not taking your opinion all that seriously about humouuur either.
Probably a Benny Hill fan.
