Today I learned

Their mother had a sonogram and it showed two different amniotic sacs

TIL The past couple of days, I’ve been feeling a buzz or vibration in one of my feet.
Oh, I could have asked here what the hell it is, but Google is a better friend, and of course enough people have asked that this is what came back:

“why is my foot vibrating like a cell phone”

That doesn’t mean they’re not identical, as the egg split could have happened early. If they’re in the same sac then they’re identical. Basically you can “rule in” some identical twins and “rule out” opposite sex fraternal twins, but same sex twins in their own sacs cannot be determined.

Tell you what - I promise not make you have to ignore anyone.

Actually - I don’t think anyone on my ignore list still posts here. In certain occasions it does really make the forum much more pleasant though.

i get that in my thigh a lot. to where I am surprised to check the pocket and the phone isn’t in the pocket.

Ignored posts are “shown,” but without content.
Or so I’ve heard.

Ah, well
TIL.

My spouse is an identical twin. Most people can’t tell them apart, and there’s the odd occassion when I trip up. they were told they weren’t identical their whole life, because apparently two amniotic sacs. Neverthless, they got genetic tested, and they’re identical. So, science> observing amniotic sacs I guess.

There’s no way they weren’t identical anyway without the testing. We’ll get chatted up by strangers in the grocery store, because it’s a coworker of my spouse’s twin making a mistake.

Ja
that’s happened to me
started talking to someone because I thought I knew them
only to find out that they were twins. :person_shrugging: :person_shrugging:

From Random Thoughts thread:

The definition of Natural, Whole, and Integer I was taught is more situational/varies more in current usage than I was led to believe. No comment was made ( like YMMV), so i took it as a current SOP.

TIL about ‘meat wool.’ It’s pretty tasty.

that’s a Chinese staple. Great for making sandwiches or adding to congee.

I see it more often translated as meat floss though.

The direct translation is more like “meat fluff”

You can actually make it yourself, just keep cooking lean pork until it dries out completely, add soy sauce and sugar.

Mmmmm, meat fluff

Do you bake it? Feels like low heat for a long time might do it.

that could possibly work. My grandma used to cook it in a wok (though it doesn’t turn out as tasty as store bought).

frankly, it’s not really considered a health food, more like a guilty pleasure. I think the store bought ones have a lot of salt, sugar, and MSG.

Can confirm. There are a couple of people I have on ignore list, and every time I see that they’ve posted, I get a little serotonin boost that makes me happy
