Huh. Today I learned…
There will be a Swimsuit night?
Asking for a friend.
Every night is swimsuit night. Pull up.
The US Capitol building is so radioactive, due to the high uranium content in its granite walls, it could never be licensed as a nuclear power reactor site.

The root of the word vanilla is little vagina.
Good thing we know how to price plain vanilla options.
And both are associated with apple pie.
Per google, Disney employs more lawyers than there are credentialed P&C actuaries in the US
When I Googled this that’s off by a lot.
Disney employs 1,400 lawyers
SOA has over 30,000 members
CAS has over 10,000 members
Now some are members of both. Not all SOA members practice in the U.S.
But nearly all CAS members do. I don’t think that could possibly be true.
And that’s not even counting EAs.
There are 19,500 MAAAs who would nearly exclusively practice in the United States, and a LOT of credentialed American actuaries who practice in the United States are not Academy members.
is 1400 a lot for a company with many subsidiaries?
No idea! I know they have hundreds of thousands of employees. So I think significantly fewer than 1% are lawyers. Not sure what’s normal.
The claim just didn’t pass the sniff test. Not even more than ACAS, which I’m guessing is the actuarial credential with the fewest actuaries (since most ACAS will go on to get FCAS).
When I google it says 10k lawyers work for Disney worldwide
I dont know if it’s accurate, but Lincoln was quoted:
Canada, UK, France and Australia have much higher homelessness than the US. In order 62.5, 56.1, 48.7 and 48.0 compared to 19.5 per 10,000.
I saw another chart with Canada at 10.5 and Australia 12.9 so one of those is wrong either your figure or mine. It being the internet, could be either I didn’t do extensive vetting. But UK does consistently seem to be at or near the top in most sites I’ve seen and France is also ahead of US. I’m a bit surprised by both.
I used Wikipedia but didn’t check to see their source. I was surprised that Australia was so much higher as homelessness is far less visible there. However, it rarely gets dangerously cold (a three dog night) so maybe they’re more dispersed.
How do they count the aboriginals? And the Crocodile Dundees?
I haven’t been to any of the indigenous settlements since I was a child but from what I’ve read, the vast majority living in settlements are housed. There are a substantial number living in urban areas that are unhoused however.
Crocodile Dundees are very rare, almost mythical.
they need an army for the global IP disputes they have to enforce, i imagine. that’s before getting to all the other reasons they might need attorneys
