Thread where actuaries diagnosis medical issues

Kind of sounds like the cysts my husband and mom have gotten. My husband’s are white or even kind of greyish. Although I think they take some time to form?

What I DON’T recommend is letting your pimple-obsessed wife lean in to get a good look at it while you’re also trying to squeeze it. Definitely don’t do that very non-specific thing that didn’t happen to me. Ugh, it still makes me sick to think about.

I really have no idea. It doesn’t hurt at all but it might be warm to the touch. Or I might be imagining things.

I don’t know how long this took to form. It doesn’t look like something with pus inside but who knows. It’s probably a lipoma as Lucy first suggested.

It’s shingles. And just a little extra, to showcase the delight of having a husband who can never admit you are right about something.

Lol, he should have come back saying, not shingles, varicella zoster.

Hopefully he caught it early enough that the antiviral will make a big difference.

There’s nothing like getting grilled by the wife after a doctor’s appointment.

“She said a lot of things can’t remember all of it”

This is why I bring a notepad to every doctor’s appt.

True, that is good advice generally, except in this particular case it seems like Mr. NA was simply trying to avoid admitting that NA was correct in her diagnosis of shingles.

Just invoke HIPAA. I’m sure that’ll work!!!

This isn’t really a diagnosis question… just a random question I can’t find the answer to on the interwebs.

You’re allowed to use Afrin for 3 days then you’re supposed to stop. Ok, fine.

How long do you have to wait after you stop using it before you can start using it again?

I’m hopeful that I won’t be needing this information anytime soon, but I’ve wondered it for a while now and never seen a convincing / conclusive answer.

i would wait a few days, this is not as much a narcotic issue, but Afrin constricts the blood vessels in your nose, making the breathing passages larger.

Use it too much and the blood vessels can collapse, creating a permanent stuffed nose and a nasty cycle.

Can use longer if use once a day, maybe to sleep, and a pill during the day

Yeah, I get why you don’t want to overuse it. So like 3 days on, 3 off?

Yeah like when one of my buddies has a baby. I get home, and it’s like, how’s the mother, how’s the baby, what’s the name, boy or girl, what did they weigh.
I dunno, it’s a baby. So basically a potato. That’s all I remember.

i would think so, maybe two off, but if you are stuffed that long, you probably need another drug.

I would also recommend a saline solution as the membranes could get dry and burn

would probably wait until that feeling goes away

I’m on my fifth dose now (2x a day for 3 days so allowed one more) and feeling like 95% compared to earlier in the week… hopefully I don’t still need it in 3-4 days!

Yeah…that’s…not what happened here.

I used to use Afrin when I flew, as I get severe ear pain and open nasal passages help with that.

Was running late, so i didn’t do it before in the bathroom like usual.

Sitting on the plane, chatting up the pretty girl bext to me, i excuse myself and snort my Afrin.

She asks if I have a cold, and I explain why I use it. She tells me she also gets severe ear pain. and, wait for it…

She asks to borrow my Afrin. I asked if she was sure. So, i just gave it to her to keep

I’ve heard of swapping spit but that’s not the same.
