That brings back memories. Back when I was an actuarial student living in a cube, I had my coffee sitting on the bookshelf on the cube wall. I’m standing up, talking to my buddy in marketing on the other side of the wall. Waved my hands or something, and my coffee went everywhere. coated the entire cube. I don’t know why, but both of us found that hilarious, i remember laughing to the point of absurdity over it.

Kinda reminds me of when I was growing up and we had ditch irrigation water and every once in a while the last area would get hours and hours of flood irrigation because the person with the turn after ours failed to take the water. We ended up with a nice pond in the low part of the field for a few days. 
Yesterday I set a timer to remind me to turn off the soaker hose. I must have gotten distracted because it was still on this morning.
Hate to see your water bill next month.
Plus sounds like time to invest in an automatic hose timer.
We had a toilet start running once in a bathroom we rarely used, the flapper got stuck. Cost us like $600, oof.

Someone used a toilet that rarely got used, the flapper got stuck open, and we didn’t notice it… until we got a $600+ water bill. I think I wound up replacing it for $15 to be safe, we’ve since scrapped the toilet in a remodel.

Now that our city has the electronic reading meters, it will alert them if your meter reads that water has been flowing, even at a trickle, for 24 continuous hours. They then will notify you. We also have a forgiveness system where by a portion of that bill can be forgiven if you show that whatever cause the problem has been fixed.
We got relief when our water main failed, but they denied us relief for the toilet.
Ah.
Remind me to turn off the soaker hose in 40 min.

I remembered! But mostly because I was attempting to dig up the pot that was requested to be moved a few inches.

Dropped my phone in the pool for a few seconds. Landed on a step so easy to get out.
We’ll see if a new phone is needed.
