I once put a moka pot on without putting in coffee first. That would have been some seriously weak coffee.
My Moccamaster machine turns the heating element off if the carafe isnāt in place.
Making some bread this aft: I forgot to turn off the warming function after 2-3 minutes, so the dough got a solid 10 minutes at 170F. I donāt think I killed it, but it did get a serious wounding. Gonna give it another hour to rise and hope for the best.
Was wondering how much vitamin D is in my multi while sitting in bed the other day. Pulled up the label on Amazon instead of just reaching over to my night stand to grab the bottle. And it wasnāt an oversight, I was thinking to myself as I was typing it into my phone that I could just do that insteadā¦but nope.
I have to ask my spouse to help me find my glasses pretty routinely. Then she gets brisk with me because ājust lookā. And Iām like, I canāt find my glasses because I canāt SEE BECAUSE I DON"T HAVE MY GLASSES. Makes sense, no?
But yeah, sometimes I load up my forehead with every set of glasses that I own, walk over to my spouse and say "have you seen my glassesā.
Well . . . you canāt make the font on the label of that bottle larger by just using your fingers . . . so I think your actions are fully justified!!
I have a flight booked Thursday to Montreal. It would be about 8 hours including travel to and from the airport.
Iāve decided to skip the flights and drive (alone), which would be 11 hours without stops.
Why? Other than hating flying and having a bad feeling about this flight (irrational), I like having the flexibility to leave early or late. And I didnāt pay for the flight and wonāt be putting in for mileage or parking reimbursement.
Not silly or stupid imo. Iād typically rather drive than fly if itās not too far. 11hrs is borderline, but just be open to pulling over if you get too tired.
How many legs on that flight?
Kind of the problem living in Cowtown. Still called that?
One layover, but coming back I have to go through customs during that layover and Iām also stressed about that timing.
Oh, and the SOA wouldnāt pay for any flights that allow me to select seats, so I would have been guaranteed to be in middle seats for all 4 flights. Awful.
Yeah. Sounds like a crappy choice. Definitely try to get reimbursed, though.
Itās not too crappy. I like long roadtrips solo, I drove to Omaha once for a potacular while pregnant, this is nothing!
My husband and I made a similar drive to QC 10 years ago. It was a scenic trip, and now Iām going when itās not cold and snowing so itās bound to be better. Iām looking forward to it.
Have fun! Post here, so we know youāre ok.
Blink twice if youāre not.
emptying the above ground pool so I can clean the interior (fall/winter/spring organic material on the bottom). about 12 inches of water left and one of the hoses stopped flowing. So I used my mouth to start a funnel. sand and other debris hit the back of my throat and i just started hacking and gagging. wish I had been faster getting away from that.
NA - file the miles. at least to the extent it is less than or equal to the cost of flying.
I forgot to set a timer for the soaker hose. I meant to run it for 1-1.5 hours, but ran it for 6+ hours instead.![]()
I stayed up too late again
I once accidentally set my irrigation system schedule to run for 3 hours on one zone rather than 3 hours across the 9 zones in the system. Took me a few weeks to notice this as it runs pretty early in the morning. I had a really green corner of my lawn while everything else was drying out.
Thatās a new take on āgreen around the edgesā.
Dude, every time I run the soaker hose I leave it on too long. I donāt think Iāve gone six hours, but Iāve left it on at least six times for an hour too long.
I knocked over the coffee maker on the kitchen counter this morning. Thank goodness the paper towels were in armās reach!! ![]()
