The covid virgins club

My number is probably up, my oldest son just tested positive. It’s his second time with covid, and this time he’s symptomatic. My youngest son is also sniffling.

Now you know how to test. It’s for science.

Hope all are better soon.

If you are going to do Paxlovid, call a doc today.

Hopefully everyone gets a mild case. Seems like most people that have either been vaccinated or previously infected are getting cases that are similar to a cold. That was certainly my experience.

I was under the impression you needed a positive test to get paxlovid? I will take a test today and if it’s positive, I definitely plan to get a telehealth appointment to get it; I am overweight.

I assume you probably need a positive test.

My Coke Zero tastes like nothing! :sob:

You need to convince a doctor or pharmacist you have covid. It assume a test is the easiest way to do that.

Best wishes. Most people who lose their sense of taste regain it again.

I’m so sorry. Take a test and get some Paxlovid. Or since you’re pretty sure it’s Covid just go to an Urgent Care center where they can test you. They probably have to verify that it’s really Covid anyway so you maybe can save the home test.

Feel better soon!

I’d do a home test and message my PCP. But he’s usually very responsive.

Why go to an urgent care clinic and expose everyone there? (Well, of you have no better choices, sure.)

Paxlovid is good for people at high risk of serious disease, but it’s not clear that it’s a win for people at lower risk. I’d discuss it with my doctor, but i don’t know if I’d take it.

I guess if your PCP would do that it would work fine.

Did you test yet?

Yep, it says negative. My other very symptomatic son is still coming up as negative also.

This time last year I would have scheduled a PCR test for us at this point, but those are now quite expensive and I have a lot of rapid tests still.

You know the next step.

You need someone who can’t feel the inside of your nose to jam a stick up it.

I am feeling pretty much fine and still testing negative. I don’t think I can call myself a Covid virgin anymore, but I’m so confused by all of this.

My husband has not gotten sick at all, and neither has my foster son.
