Part of the best scenario is punishing CMC, not just winning. He was getting run down at end of Bears game. If Hawks beat him up and put them in early east coast game, good chance Carolina or TB wins. If not, he will be worked. He needs rest. Williams needs rest too and Warner could be back. Need SF on road. Prefer to play Niners over Rams though.

Not exactly cool hoping to injure a player or at least “beat him up” enough he can’t be effective anymore.

That was a beautiful opening drive by the Hawks until Darnold got sacked on first down and goal to go on the one. Frustrating to have gotten 0 rather than 7 points on that drive.
So incredibly uncomfortable with this 10 point lead.

SF play early game Sat on east coast after receiving punishment. Great outcome. Only issue would be Rams beating Philly and GB not beating Chicago. Don’t want Rams. Will take anyone else.
Was frustrated by Seahawks lack of scoring when they were inside the 49ers 30 yard line so many times but they still won. They have earned the bye.
They’ve been the 1 seed 2 other times. Both times got to Super Bowl.

If GB beats Chicago, then i will be heading out to Seattle for the divisional round game.
Otherwise, likely won’t get to a playoff gamr this year.

In any event, this year surpassed expectations. However, once you’re in this position you have to nail it. Don’t know how things go in future. A first place schedule with Carolina and Chicago is not as bad as maybe second place schedule might be. Philly may even implode.

Hawks were going to be at Philly in 2026 regardless of how the finished in 2025.
But Chicago at home and at Carolina is not the worse. Patriots at home will be a tough matchup as will be Denver on the road.
Well done by the Hawks D. Hopefully Williams and Pearsall are healthy next week for the 49ers. I think the game may have been very different if they were playing. Hard to say though. 49ers are just missing too many guys to have anything go wrong against a top team.
By any measure, I think the title of this thread is well supported this year.
