I wear a balaclava when it’s cold. Covers the entire head other than the eyes. Easy to pull it down if you need to blow your nose, or wear it off your head if you get hot. Under Armour makes my favorites.
I lifted today and decided to take a lap around the 1/12 mile track in between sets. I do 3 sets of 6 exercises, so cumulative 1.5 miles. The first few were nothing, but I was more tired than I expected by the end.
I still don’t think I’ll ever enjoy running, but it’s a heck of a lot easier now that I’m 50 pounds lighter than the last time and I’ve been lifting for a year. No knee pain this time.
I’m about to start week 6 (of 9). The last session included a 20 minute block of running. I hadn’t looked before I left, and my legs were not happy when I hit an uphill stretch. First 5k this year is in one week.
On week 5 of 8 and today’s run was two stretches of 8 minutes each. Made it, and it wasn’t as challenging as I feared. Friday’s run is the dreaded 20 minutes without stopping.
I’m a little ahead of you, week 6 of 9. The next run is 22 minutes straight. I was going to run tonight, but I’m tired, we had margaritas, and I want to get a little work done. I’ll pick a flat route to run tomorrow. 5k on Saturday, ready or not. I’m going by myself, so I can be as slow as I want.
I decided to skip running today. My knee is bothering me a little bit, and I’m tired. I’m unsure if I should try tomorrow, or if it’s better to have a rest day. I mean, it’s not like I’m going for some time record, so I guess I’ll see how I feel.
