Reading that, i wish i’d have met him. One beer would not be long enough for all the questions id have and the stories id want to hear.
Don’t know how well known she was in the USA but very popular north of the border.
RIP Sue Johanson
Sue would have laughed at this.
the Canadian Ruth Westheimer
Certainly there were similarities between Dr Ruth and Sue.
Sue’s grandkids went to the same public school as ours and my wife knew her daughter through parent-teacher activities. My kids were all fans of Sue. She was very popular with young adults.
I am confused at how Canadian sex is different than regular sex. Is there maple syrup involved?
Well, you got your Sloppy Dog Sled, your Newfoundland Lobster Trap, your Full Mountie. The Two-Hand Zamboni. The Manitoba Milk Bag…

That would have been a good question for Sue but you waited too long to raise it!
One difference between the Canadian and US sex messaging is that Sue was targeting high school and university students and connected well with them. Dr. Ruth may have been trying more to entertain adults?

RIP Alan Arkin
A couple of my fave films from Alan Arkin:
Which includes a singing Christopher Lee – it’s very camp, and hilarious (to me)
I just found out that an old classmate of mine from Canada passed away from Breast Cancer.
Am still a bit in shock as she was only in her early 40s
She had 3 kids
Nm
I liked Alan Arkin as Yossarian in Catch-22 but it was mostly because I really liked the character in the book.
RIP Alan (from another Alan)
My kids thought he was hilarious as the grandpa in Little Miss Sunshine
RIP
Was great in argo too
Amd dont even talk about tim bits
Alan Arkin was one of the best actors of the time. He was in so many films and could make a mediocre movie watchable. There are many that I still need to watch.
I forgot he was in Wait Until Dark.
For me, his best work was in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. That movie blew me away.
And I loved The In-Laws
