I don’t think they did the autopsy until yesterday. So its a bit early for cause of death. It sounds like on the 911 call they suspected an overdose.
Basically, Neutrogena triggered a “morals clause” to end working with HP when she recently talked openly about postpartum depression. So now the company is getting dogged on the socials.

There’s a picture in the Deguello album where all 3 have beards. Beard’s was never as long as the others’, though, and he shaved it right after.

I’ve seen a few pictures of him with a beard. But for the most part he was clean shaven. I just aways thought it was funny that the band famous for their long beard look on Gibbons & Hill had clean shaven Frank Beard on drums. They made a really good trio with some really kick ass songs. I’m glad I got to see them back in the late 80s or early 90s.

I’m a big ZZ Top fan. I’ve seen them a few times. I think Billy Gibbons is way way underrated as a guitarist. Sad to see that Beard has passed on. I wonder what Billy will do. Is there a replacement in the wings like they had Elmore ready to plug and play on bass? Or is it time to hang up their car keys?
They always got along with each other so well. One thing I’ve heard Gibbons say, (and I have heard the same thing from Geddy Lee) is that the lack of animosity amongst the three members of each power trio was because they always kept the finances as straight as possible with an even 3-way split. I think in a lot of bands, the disproportionate $plits amongst members is a source of conflict.
There’s gonna be a day, and it’s gonna be quite too soon, but there’s gonna be a day when there are no more classic rock bands touring (defining classic rock any reasonable way, such as having a top 10 album or single in the 80’s or prior)
I’ve seen a bunch of my most favorite rock bands tour in recent years, most with greatly diminished skills. The recent Blackmore/Gillan reunion was a likely an act of contrition on Ritchie’s part- letting by-gones be by-gones because in their 80’s nothing really matters anymore.

Songwriters and lyricists make more money than the rest of the band. The latter assume they are actually part of the band and can spend just as much as the former do.
Billy Gibbons has already been releasing albums without the rest of the band over the past decade. One, Perfectamundo, holds the distinction of being the very last CD I ever bought. My daughter and I each bought a new CD for a long car ride.
I saw ZZ Top from very close seats in probably 1980 - after their hiatus, but before synths and MTV fame.
My brother was fortunate enough to see them on their famous Worldwide Texas Tour, but I missed that one.

ITA. In a related situation, the 6 primary actors of Friends did stick together for each to get equal pay as well.

A (lesser known) musician has left us. She lived to 109 and had great-great-great grandchildren. Six generations living at one time!

Yes, each of the actors has basically said that that decision, made at the end of the first season, created a commeraderie amongst them instead of jealosy amongst them
