Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

This.
No, not the “I could be wrong” part. I probably should delete that from the quote…

Basically, I’m doing it all the time from now on.

Aah, I frequently read too fast and miss context. Clearly that happened here. Also probably because it is 1) something I already knew and 2) seemed like an odd place to share it.

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

  1. You do, but maybe others don’t. Hence the tip.
  2. I agree, but no one goes to the “suggestions area.” Maybe I’ll add it to my sig line.

I thought for certain Trump would get his ass handed to him in 2016 and look how that went. I’m nervous about Trump 2024, especially given the fact that the Dems are almost certain to run someone uninspiring. And Trump’s running mate will likely be less ethical and/or less brave than Pence (who despite doing a lot of terrible things through 1/5/2021, had a lot of balls and did the right thing on the most important issue he ever faced on 1/6/2021).

Biden carried
PA by 1.16%
WI by 0.63%
AZ by 0.31%

I think that is razor thin. Probably the R legislatures can change enough rules to close those gaps. I’d like to believe that 1/6 would have changed some minds, but I’m not at all confident. I’d much prefer that Trump slips and can’t get the nomination. Otherwise, I think it will be another nail-biter.

Lawrence County (AL) Republican Party apologizes for “accidentally” posting KKK image

“We deserve a senator who can at least count to nine.”

Yes, that was an unfortunate image, but I have no trouble accepting that it was accidental.

I tried Googling “GOP Elephant”. This image came up in cases where it was explicitly linked to this story. Other than that, I didn’t see it.

I wonder if the image or the fact that it came from Mother Jones will cost that poor slob their job.

These day, neither, I’d think.

I fail to see how hiring a convicted sex offender to do some accounting has any relevance to him doing his job properly. Shouldn’t excons be allowed to have some way to earn a living? It’s not like he’s supervising children or anything.

I don’t have any Paladino-specific quotes, but if you’ve been following the Republican party at all recently, you’ll have heard the claims that Democrats are child molesters and “groomers”. Hiring a child molester when your platform decries the other party for being child molesters would seem to qualify him for the say-the-darndest-things category.

Him hiring a child groomer and praising Adolf Hitler are old news, it was his latest darndest thing is that Garland should be executed.

Assistant treasurer of your campaign probably does more some accounting. Curious to know why you referred to the role of the individual that way.

Does it require things that a sexual predator shouldn’t be allowed to do?

Aside from the “Dems are pedophiles” hypocrisy, I think I’m with knoath as far as “this point isn’t that big of a deal”.
