The US already has extensive military access rights in Greenland so this is about minerals not security.

Regarding statehood, I wonder if Rep Fine noticed that Greenland’s populaton is about 58,000.
That is one-tenth the population of Wyoming.

I was thinking it should be 0.2 senators.
But, it will be 2 senators when it looks like the Greenlanders will vote for the party with the majority in Congress.

That was my reaction as well. Republicans need to think through these new state resolutions carefully as Canada’s two senators would probably be blue as well if it is a Republican administration doing the involuntary annexing. Ditto for a few others.
