God forbid he talk about the actual crisis associated with the fires. He is such a horrible representative of Christianity. (or is he the perfect rep?)
Huh? Greenland is ~836k square miles whereas Iceland is just under 40k.
Anyone who’s ever tried to follow closed captioning for any sort of live event would know the answer to that.
Sorry . . . should’ve said “more land mass not covered by ice” . . . or more “usable land mass” . . . with the idea of cost to construct durable structures would be a bit more cost prohibitive in most of Greenland than Iceland.
Since when has cost ever been a consideration for the U.S. military? Certainly not in my lifetime.
If you’re worried about cost, order 1 less F-35B and use that $109 million to splurge on a Greenland structure instead of an Iceland one.
Also Google tells me that 81% of Greenland is covered by the Greenland ice sheet leaving about 158k square miles uncovered, which is STILL more than Iceland.
To put it in USA terms: Greenland is about 25% larger than Alaska. The part that’s covered by ice is about the same as Alaska. The part that’s not covered by ice is about the size of California. Iceland is about the size of Kentucky.
(I just picked the closest state and said about … please don’t nitpick as those are not precise.)
Oh, and Greenland’s ice is melting rapidly.

Oh, and Greenland’s ice is melting rapidly
This is the reason that Greenland has attracted such interest.

Right. I was just nitpicking VA’s “Iceland has more land mass” statement and subsequent “Iceland has more land mass not covered by ice” revision.
Even if you only look at the part not covered by ice: Greenland is MUCH bigger … and embiggening all the time.

please don’t nitpick …
We wouldn’t dare.
Hahaha, touché.
Nah, we’re probably more pedantic than nit-picky.
are you being nit-picky about the use of nit-picky?
Maybe scrupulous about it?
A bunch of old white guys complaining about DEI when they apparently are unable to spell the word military themselves
I think I see one white woman, diversity! She’s even sitting in the back like a good girl. Thanks, sweetheart.
I’ve heard it pronounced that way in some parts of the country.
Nancy Mace told Jasmine Crockett “We can take this outside if you want.” James Comer declined to have the words stricken from the record because she perhaps was suggesting coffee, not violence.
