I’ll just upgrade to the new iPhone. That way it self-destructs from overheating before the gummint can do anything to it.
I wonder if the people coming up with these ideas believe these delusions or if they’re trolling to see what off the wall stuff they can get others to believe.
It’s 4 groups really:
- Russian state-backed media (RT) and disinformation campaigns/troll farms
- Chinese state-backed media, disinformation, and associated foreign media (Epoch Times)
- True QAnon/MAGA idiots who actually are wrapping their phones in foil
- American right-wing media: Breitbart, Newsmax, OANN, Fox, AM radio (old, angry white men like O’Reilly, Beck, Hannity), Focus on the Family
Of those, the first two are intended to muddy American politics, the third are idiot True Believers, the fourth is a mixture of True Believers and opportunistic liars. (More believers being brought onto shows run by liars.)
Why did they have to do this on my birthday?!?!
Because @soyleche, you’ve been discovered. They’re coming for you, with the five gees!
Could be worse you could have a 9/11 or 1/6 B-day.
On a more serious note, Elizabeth Smart (the Utahn who was rescued after being kidnapped) warned people to turn their hidden phones off before the emergency broadcast if they want them to stay secret from their abusers.
Newsmax and Fox News are reporting (no, I will not link them, you can Google if you doubt) that Gov. Newsom considered Oprah and Meghan Markle to replace Feinstein.
It is not satire. They are just making things up. Newsmax first reported it and then Fox reported based on Newsmax, as is the modern shit-to-news cycle. “People are saying.”
Galeophobia, sometimes known as selachophobia , is the extreme, irrational, overwhelming and persistent fear of sharks. Someone with galeophobia will likely experience extreme and overwhelming feelings of fear, anxiety and panic at the sight or thought of a shark.
Trump’s galeophobia is the least of my worries about him.
If they bother having a platform this year (as opposed to just re-using the old one, again), I envision a plank to abolish Shark Week on Discovery.
I don’t understand why Trump’s base hasn’t been upset by his derogatory remarks about the military? Because they don’t believe he made them?
Trump’s base does not live in a fact-based reality. Trump wasn’t wrong about being able to shoot someone on 5th Avenue.
I don’t think that’s the first time he’s dissed the military.
It started before he was elected. I’m pretty sure the McCain comment, something along the lines of “he’s an idiot for being a PoW” was before his election.
I remain flabbergasted that his whole “I prefer soldiers who weren’t captured” to none other than McCain (who chose to remain captured because he was going to receive special treatment due to his dad) didn’t get him abandoned in the R primary. Or his whole fuss with the parents of the killed soldier. That’s when it was clear to me it’s just a cult.
I am similarly flabbergasted that my Marine FIL (~you’re always a marine~) is 110% latched to the guy who hates PoWs, Gold Star families, and injured veterans.
He’s the kind of guy who has a veteran plate, Marine bumper stickers, hats, shirts, home decorations. Loves the guy because he spews hate, even though some of it is onto his precious Marines.
Yeah I’ll never understand that. Maybe I’m stereotyping but I think of Marines as macho tough guys. Trump is a huge coward, insults the best of the military, etc. How do they not see that for what it is??
