Who uses those things anyway?

Seems I’m getting my first letter from Canada in the mail today!

Cross post to insignificant signals thread?

Didn’t realize that curling could be this contentious.

what a busy weekend..last night into the halal store for supplies. made a big batch of cookies threw them out. today made a huge tub of lamb lentil soup, filled the water softener, worked out for an hour, visited with my granddaughter, got a whole truck full of gear organized for a fishing trip tomorrow, went I to town for supplies. now I have to change the oil in my truck, have a 45 minute business call, pick up supper then drive to my daughter’s place for supper then come home and make another batch of cookies. jeez. then tomorrow, I’m up at 5am, taking 5 students ice fishing all day.

I’m tired already lol

I’m tired just reading that. All I have to do is drive 5 hours to visit my mom later today. Booooorrring.

I watched some videos on broomgate from about a decade ago. That was pretty tense, too.

The thing that I find kind of funny about this is that one of the Canadian team members had already admitted that it happened and said it won’t happen again before it happened again and there was the bigger confrontation where Kennedy denies that it happened.

secret canadian admirer? met them in niagra falls perhaps?

OK. It’s even funnier now that the Canadian women’s curling team has been called today for the same violation that caused yesterday’s men’s tension.

“100% not” “0% chance. There’s no way. I’d love to see a video” “I think if you’re gonna call them you’re gonna have to show video proof.”

And as they’re saying that, they’re showing a slo-mo replay of her clearly doing it.

Canada is 1-3? Not at all what I was expecting.

Canada is sorry for all the inappropriate touching.

I took 5 kids ice fishing yesterday. what a great time. over half the time nobody was fishing. just sitting in the tent on the ice talking and laughing.

Around 1 we weren’t catching anything and I suggested we can leave whenever and they all decided no, let’s stay another couple hours.

one of the students also brought his gf, his gf that he’s been seeing for a year or longer and his parents don’t yet know about. how clandestine

I’ve gone back to bringing meals for everyone, and its a huge hit because they’re students and I brought food. I’ve also started bringing tea and ginger cookies for a hot break in the morning and I really am loving that. it’s so awesome to have a hot tea and cookies with these folks, in a tent on the ice. iot as I say, we have tea and biscuits just in case the queen of england drops by.

Ahem: King of England.

Obligatory cheeky popcorn gif:

The biathalon I think is pretty nordic, but it seems like a sport we should be dominating in Canada.

I guess because cross country skiing isn’t embedded into our culture like it is over there.

I’m a nordic skier and that was the only event I was able to get tickets for at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The speed they travel at made my head spin.

I would gladly accept some inappropriate touching from Canadians.

In the USA when someone does something wrong you say: this is not who we are. This applies here.

Btw, I loved how the Canadian women’s curling team went all probabilistic in their remarks.
