The website is a little frustrating. All I want to see is the Canadian womenâs curling schedule and results. I kept getting stuck in mixed and menâs curling and didnât see an easy way to filter by country. It took me about 5 minutes to finally find what I was looking for. But I suppose part of that was they havenât started yet. And in the meantime, I was annoyed to see that theyâve used some old pictures of people who arenât even competing this year.
Only Winter Olympics results that matter to me are the hockey golds. USA will probably get the womenâs gold and the menâs is a toss-up.
My new name for Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream: the incredible shrinking tub.

You might want to blur that. @twig93 would sometimes wait months to watch international sporting events.
Of course the price went up. There are costs associated with lowering the ice cream volume.

I had to go back home last week, partly to visit my buddyâs mom. I normally visit her anyway, but this was a more urgent trip. my buddy is in Spain so heâs texting me.
so mom is having heart palpitations. checks herself into the hospital. ok, I tell buddy Iâm there tomorrow, Iâll visit her in the hospital. as we are texting, heâs like , whoops, update, she checked herself out and took a cab home against doctors orders. sheâs 88, frail and lives by herself. ok, so Iâll get there first thing tomorrow and get the whatâs up for my buddy.
I get there and we are chatting. so, she sleeps on the sofa downstairs beside the garage because âstairsâ. 4am the snowplow service is clearing the driveway and, see pictures, this is what they did to her garage door. holy cow, no wonder she woke up. itâd have given me a heart attack. how is this even possible.
anyway, shocked awake, scared, heart palpitations, into the hospital.

Good example of foreshadowing this morning. Iâm downtown having breakfast with a company rep. Woman walks in and says âDoes anyone here drive a black Dodge Ram?â.

Yeah, I had to talk her down off the ledge. She was hyperventilating. Itâs a mirror, just a mirror (my car was parked). Nobody hurt. Nobodyâs even upset. Call insurance, Iâll call my insurance, theyâll put a new mirror on both our vehicles, youâve got accident forgiveness so it wonât even impact your insurance. Everybody just relax lol.
But I guess she didnât because she showed up at my house with her husband an hour later trying to swing a deal about not using insurance. Uh, no thanks!
How do you know this about her insurance? Is Canada on a state-sponsored program?

yeah, itâs a bit odd. But itâs a small town and I guess I seemed friendly enough. Small enough that when I saw her name on her driverâs license I asked if she was related to Chuck. She said no, but she knows him. And I said, well, if I was related to chuck, I wouldnât admit it either. THen she asked me if I was related to someone else, and I said I wasnât. So the whole bloody affair is just small town oddity I guess.
