Because how could Americans be objective about whether we do or do not have talent? We’d be biased!

I accidentally hit “Pg Up” instead of “Pg Dn” on my keyboard. Let me tell ya, that really hit close to “Home”.

What is the expected duration of the marriage of Millie Bobby Brown and Jon Bon Jovi Jr Jake Bongiovi?

2 years? I just don’t see what young Jake brings to the table other than being the rich kid of a rock star. He seems to have nothing of his own going own other than a non-existent acting career.

Stay-at-home dad.

I have better expectations of this lasting far longer than many of the “star-with-star” scenarios.

Twinkies made by the company that bought Hostess (private equity in 2012, then Smucker in 2023) are a poor imitation of the Twinkies of 20 years ago (discontinued in 2012). :frowning:

I totally agree with you but I wonder if

  1. the product has actually fallen in quality
  2. my memory is over-hyping the memories of past food products
  3. my tastes have just changed
  4. I used to be so unaccustomed to treats that I was formerly impressed by mediocrity, and now I know better

Twinkies were never my thing. I was a ding dong guy.

There’s a high end candy company in Chicago called Fannie May that has also gone through the financial wringer over the last 20 years: Near bankruptcy/buyout/resuscitation. They are still around, but the actual candies are made elsewhere and shipped here, and they do not match my memories.

Snoballs or gtfo.

NFW. Snoball? A frosting-less cupcake covered in a thick, hairy rubber coating? No tanks.

Does annoyed + grateful = random?

New neighbor has, for the third time, weedwhipped/eat/trim/whacked some grassy area between miscellany of trees and bushes and utility that’s obviously mostly our property but on the perimeter of theirs.

They maintain their lawn better than ours, but we are no slouches. It’s sometimes slightly unkempt but never more than “a touch overgrown”. Better than most in our rural area.

If we had interacted more, my ideal response would be more clear. I recently got his number, will text him thank you.

Ding Dongs are favored by Hip_tiger_wife, but she laments their decline in quality - smaller, barely any chocolate on the bottom.
Sno-balls are also smaller, and (as with Twinkies), less “fluffy” tasting.

I also approve of Ding Dongs.

I always thought the Hostess cupcakes were better than Ding Dongs. Change my mind.

In my memory the ding dongs were a bit moister/fudgier and the hostess were drier, but if you wanted that white curly-q stuff on top that was hostess. Havent eaten either for decades.

It’s a more evenly distributed version of cake and cream.

The cupcakes do have the advantage in the frosting wheels is a better topping than the thin layer of chocolate colored wax over a ding dong.

Ding Dongs are also easier to eat frozen, as God intended them to be consumed.

Yes, I prefer the cupcake topping, it’s low grade frosting but it’s better than the waxy stuff.
