40-43 = early
44-46 = mid
47-49 = late

Yes.

I see no problem with having overlaps for “general” age categories that are intended to blur personal information:

Age Range Description
40-44 Early
43-46 Mid
45-49 Late

I also strive for symmetry in developing such ranges

I don’t think 45 can possibly be called “late 40s”. Even 46 is iffy.
