I was just disappointed to learn that Polymarket doesn’t have an item for our whether our Glorious Leader will be impeached before the end of his term. (They do, however, put the odds of impeachment in 2026 at 11%.)
I would have been amused to see the odds jump as a result of last night’s activities.

I’m sure there are people who don’t suck in Iran but I have no idea what group that would be or how realistic it would be for them to seize power, but I doubt any of them would be very friendly with the US.

I get why the US and the Iranian leadership sucks, but I’m not seeing why the Iranian people in general sucks. From what I can tell, many would like to live a largely European lifestyle, but he government wants to impose strict religious protocols.

My former housemate who was Iranian would love to go shopping in the US and visit her parents. On the other hand, I can see why many Iranians would think poorly of the US given the country’s long history of making them struggle as punishment for overthrowing a US imposed dictator.

The home daycare we sent our kids to were an Iranian couple who escaped the revolution. I think he was a helicopter pilot and she was a math teacher before they fled.
I’m exaggerating a bit with a broad brush. It seems that everyone who tried to be a leader failed in different ways. It’s not that everyone everyone sucks, it’s just hard to see if there’s someone who doesn’t suck who everyone could rally behind as a good leader.
Good people don’t want to lead.
