I’m heading to the march myself. Bought 2 dozen small American flags on a stick. I’ll be handing them out, trying to get the chant going. ā€œWHOSE FLAG; OUR FLAG!ā€
We gotta puncture this myth that conservatives are patriots. Total codswallop.

Will be interested to get eyewitness accounts on these protests from some of the GA attendees. I don’t trust US media reporting these days.

I am not a yeller or sign maker, so I just came with my ā€œRESISTā€ shirt and my support. Really good showing in my neighborhood, several thousands of people here all along the major intersection. Proud to be a part of it. Definitely not just blue haired old unemployeds.

(This was just my neighborhood protest. The big downtown one at the capitol building is later this afternoon).

I’m going to head down to ours in a bit. Also didn’t prepare a sign, but will wear a ā€œScience is not a Liberal Conspiracyā€ shirt. Expect a decent turnout. The weather is perfect out here.

People on the stage were claiming there were easily over 3,000 and likely over 4,000 attendees at our No Kings. It seemed fairly accurate. And people were still streaming in as the protest officially ā€œendedā€, but it’s still going anyway. I had to get going.

It’s the large town of our greater rural region, thus people were traveling in, but that’s roughly 20% the population of the town.

And it was raining.

Two counterprotesters in MAGA hats were wandering around yelling ā€œTrump’s president! Get over it!ā€ I didn’t see a single person acknowledge them. I turned my back and kept displaying my sign.

The attendance might’ve skewed slightly more than the mean more toward older people… but not especially. Lots of younger people in the crowd. A couple dinosaurs, a frog, a unicorn, and some other animal costumes. I saw ā€œAntifa’s girlfriendā€ per her sign. My local federal House Rep was there. Very interesting event.

I went to a local one, which seemed to have a good turnout. I’d say it definitely skewed to the 50+ crowd, but there were younger people and kids, too. I’m in the Seattle suburbs, and there was no police presence (that I saw) and a pretty enthusiastic vibe, with constant stream of cars honking in support. There was one car passenger who purposely was averting and shading her eyes, which was amusing. I was surprised how many of the cars that passed also had signs. I decided to go at the last minute, so no sign. I wore my Rejecting Kings Since 1776 shirt and taped an American flag and the Statue of Liberty on my mask, though.

If your weather today is as crummy as in Vancouver I would think that would dampen the crowd size

It drizzled towards the end, pretty on par for October in the Pacific Northwest. I think if it’d rained earlier, things might have been different.

So ā€œAmerica-hatersā€ give off a good vibe?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m starting to get Germania vibes.

It’s wild that Trump just demolished part of the White House on his own without approval from Congress, and is soliciting funds from donors to build his new ballroom extension from companies that wish to curry favor with Dear Leader

Conservative acquaintances posting an article about ā€œgas prices at all-time low under Trumpā€ and crowing about winning…

The article detailed: ā€œan all-time low for years where Trump was President, excluding COVID.ā€

Trump went too far with his airplane meme if supporters like Fox News is calling him out on it? I like that Kenny Loggins denounced the use of his song.

Grateful that the political gatherings this past weekend were uninterrupted by sniper fire.

With the government shutdown, ICE has to conserve its ammunition.

Considering the, um, quality of the payload in our Glorious Leader’s bombing run, and that of similar payloads in a rebuttal video I had the misfortunate of coming across (although I didn’t hate the idea of MTG being ā€œbombedā€), I can’t help but wonder:

Perhaps RFK Jr. would be well-served to focus his MAHA efforts on the quality of our stools?

I couldn’t imagine we would ever be discussing stuff like this but this is where we are in 2025.
