Trump’s Spring, too. Some of it in his own mind, though.
This could add to the excitement of golf (I know, it’s already exciting enough). Players have the extra challenge of getting to the course without being arrested.
Does this make Scheffler more or less appealing to LIV?
I think it sounds like a power-drunk icehole cop far,far too overly self-impressed by his limited authority that he could tell people what they could or could not do, dammit.
The PGA should put pressure on the course to put pressure on the local cops to release him with abundant apologies.
I imagined the following was probably in existence already and thanks to the interwebs, I wasn’t disappointed:
Very excited for Schauffele. As a now former member at his home course, it’s cool to see him win after playing behind him a few times. Was squeezing on a couple of those shots. That chip on 18 is up such a steep hill. That green is about the funkiest one I have ever played.
….also charges against Scheffler will be dropped
Not professional, but have roped myself into playing in a corporate tournament in June, and haven’t played a round of golf in about 15 years. Should be fun.
Check to see the format. Hopefully it is a scramble, which means you can dust off your driver (or 3W) and just work on your short game.
It is. I wouldn’t get involved otherwise.
I’ll still be keeping my personal score by how many balls I lose I assume.
LMPD has released the only video of the Scheffler incident. It’s from a distance. There’s nothing at all that appears to be an officer getting dragged by a vehicle.

I’m calling bullshit on that, because I’ve been reliably told by the “back the blue” crowd that cops never lie.
And if they do lie, they have a good reason for it so we should believe them anyway.
You can “back the blue” and acknowledge that there are some cops that make mistakes, and still others that intentionally do bad things with their power/authority. Doesn’t mean that the vast majority of police aren’t doing their jobs upholding law and order and keeping citizens safe.
This guy made a mistake…hopefully there wasn’t anything more malicious than that. Maybe he bet against Scheffler and really needed that bet to hit…doubt it and hope not…
Probably worthy of a different thread, but … there’s a difference between “acknowledging there are some cops that make mistakes” and “claiming that cops never lie and going to great lengths to excuse them when they do.”
Was it a mistake? Hopefully, but the original report of what happened seems to be quite different from what witnesses said and what’s now being reported. I don’t think that’s “just a mistake.” Was it non-malicious? I don’t know, but I do know that when your name gets dragged through the dirt, you don’t come out just as clean as you were before, and it’s more damaging when you’re a high-profile person with a pretty clean, pretty positive reputation.
I am fairly certain that “lying on an official police report” is grounds for dismissal if you get caught.
Thats what it looks like. He took quite a few liberties in his description of what happened because he did not turn on his bodycam. Problem for him is that there is video of the interaction.
So if he lied…fry him. Thats a fireable offense.
I “back the blue”, but have never claimed that cops never lie or excuse such behavior.
Again, I found this on the internet so it must be true,.
Sad news today. Confirmed that Grayson Murray died by suicide.
Sad indeed.
That said, my brain immediately went to hoping the onion had a headline about the LIV tour cutting their offer to $20M for his corpse.
Sad indeed. Inner Demons got him
