Or fire the head of election cyber security who won’t fabricate evidence of fraud when there is none.

This. I would only really want a national mask mandate as a symbolic gesture. Ultimately, that seems to be what all of the mandates are - have there been any cases of someone being fined/arrested/whatever for not complying with a mandate?

What I would really like to see from the President is a helpful tone - sort of a FDR fireside chats thing. I’d like a message of “We should all be doing what we can to slow this disease. Wear masks. Socially distance. I know, this is going to be difficulat for all of us, and it will hurt most of the country economically. We’ll do our best from our end to minimize the suffering as much as we can. If we all do our part, we can get through this and be stronger as a nation because of it”.

Instead, we got “15 cases, and soon to be 0”.

and this also goes back to my original “Possibility”; what if he didn’t have integrity? Could he have changed anything, or would he only be able to back up trump in word, not deed? or the power of two people to un-certify a whole black community, swinging a state for no reason other than personal loyalty.

In the OP when I state hypothetical, that wasn’t just tongue in cheek, but I see the very real possibility that enough people of low integrity in the right positions could change a legitimate outcome,

conspiracy theory (that i just made up) - delay of the transition is because trump and other need as much time to hide/destroy evidence of illegal stuff before the biden team gets access and starts to uncover all of it.

Naaa they been doing that all along.

A) they still need the base charged up for the GA run off
B) there is still money to be made via “donate to the fight”
C) throwing in the towel f’s up the narrative that they still need to stoke so that they can ramp it back up in two years
D) trump is a narcissistic sociopath with the emotional capacity of a 2 year old.

Generally I agree, but here we are now. In this paranoia thread.

As of Nov 8-10, roughly 40% of the country (80% of Republicans) believe that Biden won because of voter fraud. That’s a lot of people falling for a very big idiotic pathological lie.

I assume that number will drop over time. I assume many of those people are themselves liars. It doesn’t matter, it’s still a lot of people.

I don’t disagree. Isn’t that how several regimes have come to power with corrupt elections.

You could fix that in the settings and get 40 posts per page.

Not any more, though. It’s infinite scrolling for all.

That was a fix for the old AO… Why would you look at just 10 posts/page when you could get 40?

i preferred 10 per page. i find the infinite scrolling to be confusing.

It’s harder to go back and find things with the infinite scrolling. The search function is easier to use here though.

US Supreme CT refuses to hear Republican case on PA.

However, with all the blind support trump received, I am still not sure a legitimate election could not be overturned by a few misguided players

happy to see that ACB likely isn’t Donald’s bitch as I had thought she might be.

Everyone was always entirely too TFH about that. The Federalist society was doing the judge picking. For all the bad press they have gotten the last 4 years that is a serious group with significant legal scholars in charge. None of them were ever going to consider any action which would turn any level of the Federal court into a joke.

Didn’t think ACB would be Donnies bitch but I’m terrified of how she’ll rule on civil rights cases that come before her.

Honestly I expect that for many of them she would pull back on court expansions of existing law and send it back with an explanation that the proper forum for that type of action is the legislature.

You know, separation of powers and all.

Too bad our legislature succccccks.

Granted. But that does not mean that judges should try to step into the gap.

That just causes too many problems. Judge shopping with a purpose designed lawsuit to get around the legislature is a great way for an administration to completely destroy separation of powers. Especially when the administration nominates the judges. Chavez/Maduro and SCOV anyone?
