It’s sad that I’m only almost certain that this is fake:

I curse whoever it was that put my cell phone number in some database of Pennsylvanians. (I don’t live in PA.) The IM spam I’m receiving…

I keep being texted by “Trump” to help save America by voting in North Carolina.

I have never been to North Carolina.

Not sure how exactly it works, but i was tempted to sign up my georgia relatives for the $47 musk’s superpac was promising . With their “permission” of course

When Helene hit, a high school facebook-friend randomly posted the lie about Biden directing Fema to house immigrants instead of Helene victims.

It was surprising to me because he has not, after many years, said any garbage on facebook. He just post pics of his kids being cute. Also because he was a mostly-reasonable person back in the day. So I responded with a post full of facts, and a message that we should hang-out, etc. I know that it is unlikely to mean much, but at the same time, I feel like the insanity of our nation is partially due to us simply ‘drifting apart’, in his case drifting to WV.

Meanwhile other posts were like “I’m so fucking angry” and “Call your boys in NC to tell them we need to stand strong.” Which… maybe he did… who knows? The latest is that some crazies in NC were “hunting fema”.

Cards Against Humanity has responded to Musk with their own campaign. If you didn’t vote in 2020 you can get $100.

If an eligible voter did not cast a ballot in 2020, they are offered a payout by the game company, so long as they do the following:

Write an apology for not having voted four years ago.
Create a plan to vote.
Post a pre-written disparaging comment about former President Donald Trump on social media.

I am worried that this is a prelude to results going against Trump. It seems like the temperature is being raised intentionally so that we get to election day ready to explode.

I remember when Republicans threatened legal action against Michael Moore for offering ramen and underwear to students who register.

This was more than just rumors. A guy was arrested

Same gullible mentality in the Pizzagate bullshit. And the AZ Dem-o-Crat party HQ shootings.
Then again, lots of Americans believe in Bigfoot and ghosts and a lot of crap.

True, but the folks that believe in bigfoot, ghosts, flat earth, or UFO’s generally aren’t looking to shoot people or overturn the government as a result of their fantastical beliefs.

Eh. this is more about the general gullibility of the American Public, crossed-pollenated with the proliferation of weapons. Only takes a few to make the world a less-safe place to live in.
The smart sociopaths understand that there is a critical mass of gullibility.

Apparently, the GOP slate of electors in several states includes folks (some indicted, some not) who were Trump’s “fake electors” in 2020.

There won’t be a single potential GOP elector who hasn’t been carefully vetted to be pro-Trump.

That’s not surprising. I assume the “fake electors” were Trump’s actual slate of electors… just in states he didn’t win.

The candidates choose the electors before the election. I think it’s part of being on the ballot since that’s actually who we are voting for. A friend of STBX’s was in the past on Jill Stein’s slate of electors. Not that she was going to carry a state, but if she did…

So essentially what that says is that Trump is using the some of the same electors in 2024 as he used in 2020 in some of the close states. I bet that’s fairly common across the board.

That said, I suppose if the electors have criminal records for election fraud then that probably ought be disqualifying.

(I guess it’s possible STBX’s friend is still on Jill Stein’s slate of electors. I lost this friend in the divorce so I don’t really know what he’s up to these days. In 2016 he changed his Facebook profile pic to say “Jill, never Hill”. I imagine that he still supports her.)
