While possibly true, I don’t see this happening. If Trump loses it will be because the Democrats cheated according to MAGA. They will assign zero blame for their team.

Pushing back slightly. Trump obviously actually won 2020 and it was just because of the Democrats cheating that they lost, but if he lost then it’s not Trump’s fault, it’s Pence’s.
Yeah, there was the whole insurrection subplot, but if not for the coup, Pence would still have been thrown under the bus.
Then again, Pence wasn’t a MAGA True Believer, he was just a Republican seeking power.

Depends on how much Trump lashes out at Vance if he loses the election. For being so brilliant and a genius like nobody has ever seen before, Trump has hired and subsequently fired or had quit and incredible number of amazingly stupid and moronic people.

Trump wants the Vance vs Walz debate to be the last big political poll mover ahead of the election. Give it two weeks and if Harris is +5 in the national polls the busses will start rolling towards JD.
It’s not Trump’s fault. People told him to hire them. He didn’t know them, but he thought he’d give them a shot. They were bad at their jobs, so he fired them. What else could you do? /red

If Walz does reasonably well vs. Vance and the needle budges toward Harris, do you think Trump starts claiming that he wants another debate but Harris is too scared, despite Harris waiting for a CNN debate that Trump won’t agree to, and Trump previously saying it was too late to debate?
I think he would.
He will say a lot of things, and he very well could test that out, but it doesn’t seem like it would go very far and people would laugh at him, which he won’t like. Much safer to throw JD under the bus and watch X scream at vance as they go down in flames.

This was my thinking too. If the Vance / Walz debate is the final debate then Trump can more easily blame Vance if he loses.

Well, he can’t really blame the voter fraud until people vote and he loses, but he is signaling to expect that.
He’s already pre-emptively blaming voter fraud before voting has happened, vowing investigations and prosecution “at levels never before seen in this country” to put people in “long term prison sentences” for their “skullduggery”.
That news cycle passed about 50 news cycles ago though.
Strange cartoon. It seems to imply that it shouldn’t cost money or be complex to administer a country with over 300 million people and is a geopolitical power.
And most consequences aren’t really unintended, I’d think. I think it is more that the press (both conserv and lib) loves stories where they show people negatively affected by changes in law and policy.
