Political truths that are worth sharing but aren’t funny

The Democrats have a marketing problem for sure. Something like “Build the wall and make Mexico pay for it” has numerous flaws as a policy, but it is simple for people to get, and allows Republicans to get votes and take power.

Maybe democrats should run against the GOP’s “death panels for women” this fall.

There is ignorance, however there is also the perspective that I do not want one penny of my money going to someone less fortunate, especially if their skin is darker than mine. The specious arguments are a simplistic way of eliciting support.

A list typically has more than one thing…

Most of the people we are talking about don’t know anything about the green new deal, except the fantasies about banning hamburgers that they hear from their chosen media.

What I am hearing from ND is that Democrats should just go with ridiculous characterizations of their opponents positions, because gaslighting works.

Very local to me:

Oh, also:

Here we have a presumable voter feeling the effects of Trump’s actions and blaming it on Democrats. Ignorant rage is a huge problem today.

The options Democrats have:

  1. Be more like Republicans, which requires being actively divisive and hateful
  2. Lose an election

For sure, in the 2020 debate, Biden shouted back. So it was just two people screaming insults over each other. It was a god awful debate, but also a tie.

I agree that Democrats would do better with someone who is literally bigger and also offensive, in both senses of the word.

Ideally you need someone who is sharp and assertive, not necessarily very loud. The Democrats should have nominated someone much younger.

Imagine if we had JFK against Trump?

It’s just all strawman arguments. You argue against the poorly informed R voter while pretending the same poorly informed D voter doesn’t exist in equal measure. If you want a more nuanced debate then debate the more nuanced positions.

Sure, to some degree, Trump fits the sentiment of America, which is extremely divided. It allows him to shout his persecution complex, and exaggerate about the left destroying America, and generally make shitty arguments very loudly.

That said, he’s not a particularly good general-election candidate. If democrats had just chosen someone kind of attractive, it would have been an easy battle I think.

Seems like both parties actually really suck at managing power.

Using facts should work as well.
This voting bloc is gullible, and wants facts that fit their narrative. The GOP and their Media Minions machine knows this and exploits it. The gullibility also means ads work great on them to sell them more shit they think they need.

I think there are poorly informed voters, and Republicans have done a better job recognizing this and appealing to them by completely skipping the nuanced debate.

Well informed undecided voters exist, but is the ROI worth chasing after them?

I reject your facts and substitute my own.

Deplorable!!!
