CNN treats this as “Breaking News” but there is nothing new about OASDI’s financial problems. I don’t expect any government action on this front until after the 2028 Federal Election as US politicians need a crisis to be more imminent before taking action.
Did they just update a 20 year old article with global search and replace the year of insolvency?
Apparently the Social Security Actuary released a new update but there is little change from earlier projections.
One difference between actuaries and politicians is we actually try to look into the future and worry about it!
