Before Trump launched his economic war on Canada, we would primarily give military aid to countries as cash and they would primarily buy their military equipment from the US. That is what happened with the billions of dollars Canada gave to Ukraine.
That has changed now with the US-Canada relationship at an all-time low. Canada will now try to source the military equipment primarily from Canada, which we should have been doing all along.
