Political truths that are worth sharing but aren’t funny

I like AOC. I think all politicians should be grassroots. I have never heard anything about her that would be considered evil.

AOC and I would probably disagree on political philosophy.

However, I’m currently inclined to believe that AOC is more likely than not to make decisions in what she views as the best interests of the country even if that might be disadvantageous to party or her own political career. I think politicians who do that can’t go too far wrong, even if I disagree with their decisions.

I’m skeptical that she’s got the administrative / executive skills or experience to be an effective President without relying on the crutch of party machinery, However, I’d love to see her in the Senate.

I like her too.

I mean I understand a lot of her positions are not well received by those of higher income.

But I don’t see any of her proposals as evil.

Some may be a bit naive and/or impractical, but that’s a lot different than evil.

Maybe we only get a narrow view of AOC in Canada but I have not seen any of her policies that hurt the masses. It is refreshing to see a US politician who is not beholden to big business and the billionaires.

Sounds like blatant Marxist behavior. The gall of people trying to help others. /s

The knee-jerk reaction of “socialist = evil” is interesting to watch.

I don’t remember the details, but one activity with my 6th grade science class a few years ago involved some sort of little trinkets. One boy went around and gathered together all of them, then said, “ I have all of them! I’m a socialist!”

It didn’t seem appropriate in that class to go into detail, but I did suggest that he look up what socialism is.

Im reading this and thinking about how well Danielle Smith fits in here with her outright hostility to renewable.
