tfw you know that one of your friends is holding on to a gift so they can open it with a lucky egg. i keep getting gifts from them, they are level 49, and now if i open their gift they get to open for best friend status. normally i don’t pay attention to this and just let the other person have it, but for some reason i started to pay attention. now we are at a stalemate. i don’t remember at all where i picked up this friend from to coordinate but being that they are level 49, they likely do this a lot. level 49 is crazy. CRAZY! oh, and they are less than 2.6 million from level 50, so they are gonna hit level 50 really soon with or without my best friend status.
i’m level 45 and hope to be level 46 by the end of the year.
they have their buddies name as “UL rank 15”. does this mean they are ultra league 15th in the entire pokemon universe?
I’m stuck at 43 since I don’t battle. I’ve been thinking I need to have someone take my phone for an afternoon or whatever it takes and just do it for me. But since I’m stuck at a level, I try to let everyone else open for bestie. Really, I was doing that well before I got to 43. I generally try to be extra careful for people who are at lower levels - make sure they get the chance to egg for all the levels if they want to. I suppose I might feel differently if I got past the 43 roadblock, though.
what do you mean by battle? do you mean raid? cause battle league doesn’t really give you xp.
I’ve been avoiding Manhattan a lot lately due to neighbor issues. Currently in another state at a friends house and it’s hard to raid unless I take a car and go somewhere to do that. No pokestops either unless I walk almost a mile to it. So kinda stalled right now.
I’m unfortunately going home on labor day. I hate my home, but the one good thing about it is I can pokemon and raid to my hearts content as Manhattan is a pokemon haven.
That’s what I mean. xp is pretty meaningless for me right now because I’m stuck needing to do a bunch of battle tasks to move on, but I don’t battle. I just don’t have the interest to learn. Unless someone does the battling for me, I’m gonna be stuck at 43 forever.
my sister also wants nothing to do with battle league, but she powered through it to get to level 44. not sure if she bothers with it now that she’s there.
i’m probably late to find out that you can get meltan boxes by downloading pokemon home, setting up a nintendo account, and transferring random pokemon to it and you do not need to own a switch or spend money in any way. i just found this out! i caught so many meltan today as a result.
It is different playing in Manhattan than elsewhere, as gyms there are hard to hold.
I do put a lot of mon in gyms though. That’s how I get away with spending minimal $ on this game. Other than an occasional special event ticket, I haven’t spent any money on this game in years.
I also bank money in the Google Play store using Google Opinion Rewards, so the “money” I typically spend is earned credit there. I won’t call it “free”, as since I’m giving opinions for store credit I realize I am the commodity .
probably true, but it’s at least easier to hold now than it was in the old version of gyms. i’m glad they changed that. i’d hold them for seconds in that version. it wasn’t fun. probably still true though, but not as bad. people complained when they changed the gym structure, but it was truly awful in manhattan with the old version. spoofers held them all for life. since they changed the gym structure with having to get out of the gym to collect coins and being able to feed pokemon in gyms, i don’t hate spoofers anymore.
You haven’t used the daily incense? Im currently at my parents house where its harder to get poke balls and you get 15 with using the incense so i do every day. Once in a while it brings the firey zapdos which always flees after one ball.
I was using the daily incense in manhattan too just to encounter firey fleeing zapdos.
seem to be NO special challenges at level 46. lame.
i wish the game would keep track of when you hit each level cause i have no clue when i hit level 45 to say how long this took. for some reason i didn’t note it in this thread.
would have hit it a while ago if i didn’t keep escaping my apartment to areas that suck for pokemon because my apartment is killing me. one and only good thing about my apartment is it’s amazing for pokemon.
