I’ve been playing Splatoon 2 lately. Was playing with my kids a bit over the summer but now it’s my late night vice (instead of poker). Fun game!

Great game, really helps if you get into the characters and name them, etc. too.

Been playing Factorio recently, really enjoy that balance between building stuff and survival. But I think I usually migrate over to Rimworld eventually when I get bored of Factorio.

I’ve given Factorio two good runs. The first time I ever played I failed to get a rocket launched. Maybe if I had re-worked things I’d get it done but I just gave up. A couple months later I tried again and was able to launch a rocket. I like trying to optimize things but I never got into circuits or advanced trains. I think my next playthrough I’ll try to build that into my world. Previously my trains had just run in one big circle, I never had them split/switch tracks.

I may have just convinced myself to give it another go

I definitely recommend toying with the map settings for what you might find fun. A common setting which is what I do is to make the resources very infrequent but very rich/large and to make the research slow/expensive and the bugs harder but give yourself plenty of starting space/water.

The result is to incentivize a big train network which is a lot of fun.

Started playing sonic mania again. This game is way harder than I expected.

Each time I play Factorio I aim for a bigger factory.

The factory must grow to meet the needs of the growing factory!

I’m back in! Standard world, but the nearest iron ore outside my base is so far away though :frowning:

I’m shooting to build a massive train infrastructure.

Played Jackbox last night with a couple friends. Has anyone else heard of this? It’s a pack of games (can be purchased on a bunch of platforms) that everyone plays along via their smartphones. We played several rounds of Drawful, Fibbage, and Trivia Murder Party. It was a lot of fun. Looking it up today, there’s multiple different party packs, so I’ll probably pick up a couple of them for our house.

Morkredd - Co-op puzzle game where you’re pushing a giant glowing orb around and have to stay in the light. Can be played 1 or 2 players (I’m playing with my 9 year old). It’s a great adult/kid co-op based on puzzle difficulty. The checkpoints are plentiful, so it’s not too frustrating when you kill each other with your shadows. We’re playing on Xbox Game Pass, but it looks like it’s also available on Steam.

I love Jackbox games. They were pefect for lockdown times.

Watching my husband play The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles on the Switch. So far he’s made it to episode 3 (there’s 10 total). Some of these cases are hard! I’ve had to look at some guides when he’s run out of options. For those who like visual novels, or those who enjoyed the previous Ace Attorney games, a description of this one:

Set in the late 19th century during Japan’s Meiji Period and London’s Victorian era, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles follows Ryunosuke Naruhodo as he works to sleuth out the truth in witnesses’ testimonies and clear his clients’ names in court. Players will unravel the mysteries behind 10 thrilling cases and eight mini escapades filled with a zany cast of over-the-top characters – including local ace detective Herlock Sholmes.

I am a big fan of the quiplash and dictionarium mini-games

We didn’t play those two, but my kid asked what I want for my birthday next week and I said Jackbox since we had so much fun Friday, so maybe those will be in whichever party pack they pick for me. My only stipulation was that I wanted Drawful. Since everyone can draw poorly - it’s accessible for everyone. :slightly_smiling_face:

OK I did finally buy Baba Is You since I upgraded my four-year-old phone. I was skeptical that it was that brilliant, but it really is, I’m having a blast. I’m really impressed with all of the ways they’ve developed the basic mechanic and I’m only on Area 3 (Ruins). I’m beating all of the basic levels but saving some of the harder extras.

Picked SC2 back up with some college buddies for the first time in years as a form of mini pandemic reunion. Still fun.

Where does one buy PS5 at 399? Do I have to go to the store?

What Remains of Edith Finch-- short casual switch game. I would say less a game and more like a wonderful film of scary short stories. Good for halloween. Sorry if this makes my kid weirder…

The latest Shin Megami Tensei game was released on the Nintendo Switch. I’ve been playing that over the weekend. I like it better than Nocturne now that I can see the enemies and run away instead of taking 3 steps and being attacked. A lot to explore and there will most likely be some (more) DLC content. There’s cute demon/angel/god designs like the gif below that may be new, and also some questionable ones that could give you nightmares. The creators of Shin Megami Tensei also make the Persona games if you’re familiar with those games.

I picked it up, too.. haven’t played a “regular” SMT game but thought it’s not a bad spot to jump in. Played P3-P5, but not expecting the same thing.

Trying to finish Octopath Traveler first though… I’m about 80 hrs in and nearing completion of the 3rd part of each character’s story. I’m focusing on one long JRPG at a time :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m assuming it’s helpful to come into SMT knowing bufu = ice, etc.

Bought pokemon shining pearl on switch.
